Fokker D.VI The Fokker company was so enormously prolific that it quickly obsoleted many of its own aircraft. In the 1918 Fighter Competition held by the German Air Command, Fokker alone entered eight aircraft. The Fokker D.VI fighter was basically a stretched version of the Dr.I with scaled down wings from the D.VII. It was an extremely easy plane to fly, and it performed quite well. Only 59 of these aircraft were built, as the successful D.VII completely outclassed all previous German fighters in the Great War.
