From Phog to Wilt, Peeler to Stewart, KU and Mizzou have traded baskets and blows since 1907—and more often than not, the Tigers have been on the losing end of both.

March 11, 1961: Kansas’ Wayne Hightower punched Missouri’s Charles Henke between the eyes after taking issue with his aggressive play. Benches cleared, fans got involved and, after the Tigers’ 79-76 win, some school officials wondered whether it was time to end the rivalry for good.

WINS FOR KANSAS WINS FOR MISSOURI

By SCOTT MILLER

On Feb. 25, Kansas and Missouri will meet for the 267th time on the hardwood. Sadly, nobody knows when the 268th Border War will be, as the Tigers switch from the Big 12 to the SEC next season. After more than a century’s worth of fights, trash-talk and buzzer beaters, which team will have claimed the most spoils? There’s more than one way to keep score.
