Kirkland Fine Arts Center | Free Pianist Silvan Negruţiu returns to the Kirkland Series with a recital marking the release of his new album, Bagatelles (Centaur Records, 2021), recorded on the Kirkland stage last August on a new Steinway chosen by Negruţiu for Kirkland. The program includes works by Alexander Tcherepnin, Robert Chumbley, Ludwig van Beethoven and Carl Vine. Since its founding in 1983 by Michael Levine, the Dallas Brass has become one of America’s foremost musical ensembles. The group has established a unique blend of traditional brass instruments with a full complement of drums and percussion, which creates a performing entity of extraordinary musical depth and breadth. The Dallas Brass repertoire includes classical masterpieces, Dixieland, swing, Broadway, Hollywood and patriotic music for the entire family!

Arlene Turner-Crawford is a Chicago-area artist who works in the mediums of painting, assemblage/ collage, drawing, graphic design and illustration. Defining herself as a visual artist, curator, educator, muralist and cultural activist, her work also explores the history of the African American people in this country in their struggle for freedom, civil rights, human dignity and equality.

FEBRUARY 28–APRIL 28, 2022 Reception: Thursday, April 28 | 4–6 p.m. Dr. Rjurik “Rik” Golubjatnikov graduated from Millikin in 1954 with a degree in biology and was named chief immunologist in the Laboratory of Hygiene at Wisconsin State University. A world traveler and adventurer, Dr. Rik has visited more than 87 countries, collecting textile fragments woven and worn by indigenous people from a myriad of cultures and ethnic regions.

Free shuttle service is available for all Kirkland Series and MDSO Masterworks performances at Kirkland.
