Suor Angelica (Sister Angelica) and Gianni Schicchi are two one-act operas written by Giacomo Puccini at the height of his powers as an opera composer. Suor Angelica is a tragic tale of loss and repentance depicting life in a convent; Gianni Schicchi is a rousing comedy with a title character who first appears in Dante’s Inferno. The divine juxtaposition of tragedy and comedy is sure to make an opera lover out of you! Both operas will be sung in English.
