BENEFITS OF LIVING ON CAMPUS LIVE CLOSE Living on campus allows easy access to each one of your classes, as well as the University Commons, Staley Library and other campus facilities. LIVE SECURE Our residence halls have swipe-controlled access for safety and security as well as 24-hour security personnel patrolling and monitoring campus who are available with one phone call. LIVE IN COMMUNITY Living on campus helps build a community with those around you. You have more opportunities to create a support system with people down the hall or in other campus residences. LIVE INVOLVED Living on campus allows you to know what is going on and to be a part of it. When you live on campus you have increased opportunities to join in on fun activities that make memories. These include floor-wide and campus-wide activities hosted within the residence hall by your Resident Assistants and by student organizations and athletic teams. LIVE SUPPORTED Living on campus offers each student the emotional, spiritual, social and academic support to succeed as a student. Paraprofessional student leaders, Public Safety and Student Affairs staff are trained and available to assist students in need. LIVE SMART Research of college students across the nation indicates that students who live on campus are more satisfied with their college experience, earn higher grade-point averages and are more likely to graduate. Living on campus can help students with time-management and greater connections with academic support. Millikin University’s Office of Campus Life commits to assist enrolled students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. HOUSING OPTIONS FIRST-YEAR All first-year students live in one of five on-campus residence halls. First-year students are students who have earned 23 credits or fewer, including transfer students under age 21.

UPPERCLASS Sophomores, juniors and seniors may select from housing options specifically designed for upperclass students. Upperclass students are students who have earned 24 credits or more, including transfer students over age 21.
» Fraternity and Sorority Housing » The Woods at Millikin Apartments Apply early to improve your chances of getting your first choice in housing. Room choices are based on date of application. Millikin University is not responsible for the management of approved chapter facilities and The Woods at Millikin. Millikin University will not be financially responsible for leases or contracts broken by students before the end of the signed leasing term. Students assume full responsibility for leases, including finding another occupant if they should leave their leased space during the leasing term.
ASTON HALL Millikin’s historic Aston Hall opened in 1907 and features four floors that house up to 100 residents. Aston is the closest housing option to the Center for Theatre & Dance and is known for its tall ceilings, large hallways and community-style bathrooms. It also offers a select number of triple rooms on the fourth floor, overlooking Millikin’s picturesque campus. Students are assigned to genderspecific floors.

MILLIKIN UNIVERSITY OFFICE OF CAMPUS LIFE
BLACKBURN HALL Blackburn Hall houses 99 residents. This close-knit community includes updated community bathrooms, long hallways and is the closest building to Shilling Hall. Blackburn features double-occupancy rooms in a traditional residence hall style. Students are assigned to gender-specific floors.

DOLSON HALL Dolson Hall boasts four floors of suite-style living that can house up to 200 residents. Each floor offers a large lounge area and kitchen, providing ample space for socializing and gathering. Room options include single, double, quad and ADA-accessible single rooms. Dolson Hall is home to several of our Living Learning Communities.

MILLIKIN UNIVERSITY OFFICE OF CAMPUS LIFE
NEW HALL 4 & WECK HALL Located directly across the street from Shilling Hall are New Hall 4 and Weck Hall, Millikin’s quaint two-story, suite-style residence halls. Each houses 52 residents and includes a large first-floor lounge and study room. The benefits of living in one of these buildings includes an intimate sense of community and suite-style bathrooms shared by each group of four residents. New Hall 4 and Weck Hall are home to some of our Living Learning Communities.

FIRST-YEAR LIVING LEARNING COMMUNITIES Themed housing communities are optional for students wishing to live alongside those with common interests, passions or majors. Students can indicate their preference to live in themed housing on the housing application.
Nursing
If you are a student majoring in Nursing at Millikin, this experience is a great way to network with others in your major. Residents share a common schedule, although not all classes will be the same. Students residing in this tightly knit community will have specialized faculty interaction, programming and just the perfect environment for this rigorous major.
Honors
Students in the Honors program may share common class schedules and can attend seminars and study sessions within the residence hall. Special programming and upperclass honor student-mentors will be part of this special experience, helping you kick into high gear and fulfill your academic goals in your first year at MU!
Commitment to the Arts
Students with arts-related majors can find a community in Commitment to the Arts-themed housing that encourages creativity, individuality and flexibility in the arts. Special programming showcases artists in art galleries, graduate programs, theatrical groups and other venues to connect with the Millikin and Decatur community.
Global Citizens
Ready to see the world through someone else’s eyes? If so, you may be an ideal person to live in the Global Citizens-themed community. This globally focused community is designed to allow American and international students to create a unique community together. This arrangement places two students in each residence hall room: one domestic student and one international student. Programming for this community can expand global awareness, introduce modern languages and diversity, as well as foster close interaction with the Millikin Center for International Education.
LV Scholars
First-year students accepted into the Long-Vanderburg (LV) Scholars Program will automatically be placed in this active community. The LV Scholars Program recognizes high scholastic achievement among underrepresented students who have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, leadership and community service.
FRATERNITY AND SORORITY HOUSING The Greek community at Millikin consists of 12 chapters and five chapter facilities, with 20% of the student body choosing to join a fraternity or sorority. Greek affiliations allow students to focus on scholarship, service and leadership while networking and creating lifelong friendships. The following organizations have Universityapproved chapter facilities. Remaining students live together in the residence halls and The Woods at Millikin.

at Millikin The Woods at Millikin is a student-only, privately owned complex that houses more than 600 residents in apartment-style living. The Woods offers the ultimate living experience for upperclass and transfer students. Apartments feature four private bedrooms, full kitchen, washer and dryer, private deck or patio and modern furnishings. The Woods also offers a long list of community amenities that include a pool, fitness center, computer lab and gated community. Millikin University is not responsible for the management of The Woods at Millikin.
