ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS The Millikin University RN to BSN Program builds on students’ prior knowledge and skills. Transcripts from all previous college work are evaluated individually. Students who have earned an Associate degree are given full course and hour transfer credits for courses credited for these degrees up to, in most cases, a maximum of 66 credits. Credit is given for upper division courses in mental health nursing, parent-child nursing, and medical-surgical nursing. These hours are banked until other requirements toward graduation are fulfilled and then the 27 hours are applied to the transcript. Students enrolled in the RN to BSN with a GPA of 3.0 or above may have the opportunity to enroll in up to 3 specific courses in the MSN curriculum. PROFESSIONAL NURSE RESIDENCY Performance Learning is a hallmark of a Millikin education. MSN Nurse Educator students collaborate with an experienced faculty mentor to design an individual residency to practice what they have learned in MSN classes. Students identify the focus of the residency as either clinical practice or nursing education and collaborate with an assigned preceptor to refine their knowledge and skills in the real world.
DOCTOR OF NURSING PRACTICE (TRACK 1): NURSE ANESTHESIA The Millikin University and Decatur Memorial Hospital Nurse Anesthesia Program prepares nurses to become Nurse Anesthetists. Students must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
