Welcome... Welcome to Leicester Racecourse and Conference Centre in 2013. This year we are pleased to announce that we have 32 fixtures (11 National Hunt and 21 Flat). To add extra value to this busy fixture list we have 3 exciting music race meetings. These will be on Saturday 15th June with RICK ASTLEY and BANANARAMA, Ladies Day Saturday 6th July with THE HUMAN LEAGUE and THE BLOW MONKEYS and Sunday 11th August with Peter Andre and BjĂśrn Again. Please be reminded that we fully expect all three of these fixtures to sell out, so book your tickets early to avoid disappointment. Whilst we are primarily a busy racecourse please remember that we also offer a superb venue for all your business needs and we are very accommodating to all types of wedding or event. Our superb Club Room offers the perfect private facility for you and your guests The Club Room offers a spectacular head on view of the racecourse. It is airconditioned with plasma screens, private betting service, seating and a bar plus a shared raised viewing terrace with owners and trainers. Able to accommodate up to 120 guests the Club Room offers one of the most spectacular head on views of any racecourse in the country for a fraction of the cost.

Summer Racing & Entertainment... Following the tremendous success of our two previous Ladies Days where we saw Tony Hadley perform in 2011 and our 2012 sell out featuring Heaven 17, Belinda Carlisle and ABC we are pleased to announce 3 Big Music racing fixtures in 2013 It is our aim here at Leicester to attract bigger acts each year. We try not to raise the ticket prices too much in an attempt to offer an all round entertainment day which is exciting, different and value for money. We have gone a long way to achieving this in 2013 by attracting the following acts plus a full days racing with other benefits all for one fixed price of ÂŁ25. That is just ÂŁ25 for a full day of fun and it is still cheaper than simply going to see the act perform for a stand alone gig.

Party Night with Rick Astley & Bananarama Rick Astley

In 1987, the world was greeted by a new vocal talent. Shocked by the powerful, mature soulful voice of a 21 year old, the UK obliged by sending his debut single “Never Gonna Give You Up” to the top of the charts within 2 weeks of its release. The artist was, of course, Rick Astley. The rest of the world soon followed suit with Never Gonna Give You Up reaching Number 1 in 16 other countries including most of Europe, Japan, United States and Australia. The following 2 years saw Rick continue to dominate the charts around the globe. In the UK, Rick was in the Top 40 every week for the first 6 months of his career.

Bananarama celebrate their 30th Anniversary this year and their achievements speak for themselves. Two Band Aid appearances, an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful female band worldwide There will also be carousel, dodgem and tea cup rides on the day.

Their cover of ‘Venus’ hit No. 1 in the US, Australia and most of Asia and Europe. With the release of the triple platinum (in the UK alone) ‘Greatest Hits’ came their entry into the Guinness book of records as the most successful girl group in the world. At 30 hits the record still stands today.

The Human League are so credible it’s incredible. In fact, they’re probably more highly regarded in 2012 than they were in 1981 when they released their landmark album Dare! They’re used to everyone from Madonna to Moby, Pet Shop Boys to Robbie Williams, citing them as an influence.

The Blow Monkeys are a British New Wave, pop rock, sophisti-pop and alternative rock band that formed in 1981. After their massive worldwide hit ‘Digging Your Scene’ The Blow Monkeys continue to flourish and show no sign of slowing.

Family Day starring Peter Andre & Björn Again Peter Andre Peter Andre is an accomplished worldwide media star known for his successful music and television career. He has had numerous number one hit singles, two number one albums and toured all over the world collecting a multitude of national and international awards along the way. 2012 has seen Peter continuing his successful music career – he has been back in the studio and has released his new album titled ‘Angels & Demons’. Peter is currently on a 31-date sell-out Arena Tour named ‘Up Close and Personal’ - seeing Peter touring the UK and playing live to thousands of his fans once again.

Björn Again The Internationally acclaimed Björn Again show was created and founded in 1988 in Melbourne, by Australian Director and Musician Rod Stephen. Designed as a rocked-up lighthearted satirical Abba spoof, the show achieved world-wide cult status and acknowledged for single-handedly initiating the Abba revival. Recently acknowledged by Abba’s blonde vocalist Agnetha Fältskog, Rod aims to keep his typically Australian production at the top and continue for as long as people want to hear the much-loved Abba repertoire performed in the way only the Björn Again show does. There will also be carousel, dodgem and tea cup rides on the day.

Performing regularly at a wide range of events including weddings, parties, sports events, Caribbean evenings, festivals and fêtes. Performing in all kinds of settings, and highlights include supporting Billy Bragg and playing in a boat, a bus and a bandstand!
