MISSION: Tuacahn edifies and inspires the human spirit through professional world-class family entertainment and an unparalleled artistic experience that matches the majesty of our canyon. Known best for its professional theatre, Tuacahn attracts the most talented actors in America. Each year, thousands of applicants audition from New York City to Los Angeles. Tuacahn productions include members of Actors’ Equity Association, the union for professional actors and stage managers, many of whom have appeared on Broadway or and other nationally recognized venues. As a community asset, Tuacahn entertains more than 300,000 patrons each year, with musicals, concerts, shopping, food, and other special events. Tuacahn is Utah’s largest professional non-profit theatre and acts as an economic engine generating an annual impact of more than $100 million. Visitors stay in hotels, dine at restaurants, and shop at retail outlets while enjoying recreational activities in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. SCOTT ANDERSON (Producing Artistic Director) joined Tuacahn in 2004 and enjoys creatively shaping and artistically leading this dynamic arts institution. He has worked for more than forty years in theatre, film, radio and television. He has been involved in over 100 productions as an actor, director or producer but considers his eighteen years at Tuacahn to be one of his most satisfying challenges. Scott’s more recent directing credits include: The Count of Monte Cristo, The Prince of Egypt, Shrek the Musical, Disney’s When You Wish, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Aladdin, Tarzan, Annie, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Les Misérables and Peter Pan. Both Aladdin and The Prince of Egypt were produced at Tuacahn pre-Broadway and pre-West End. Disney’s When You Wish had its world premiere here at Tuacahn in 2015. He also wrote and directed the acclaimed motion picture The Best Two Years and more recently The Jerk Theory. He continues to work as a writer and director and is always working on new film projects. Scott attended Dixie State University and the University of Utah, where he studied Theater and Film. He is the proud father of three children and twelve grandchildren. Scott hopes to shepherd more outstanding entertainment to this unique venue in the years to come. KEITH ANDREWS (Director/Choreographer)is so excited to be back at Tuacahn directing Buddy at the Hafen Theater after directing last year’s and 2018’s productions of Million Dollar Quartet! Keith has directed three other productions of MDQ, as well as many other regional productions around the country. Keith comes to Tuachan directly from directing the Regional Premiere of Head Over Heels. Other recent productions include Elf - the Musical, The Bodyguard - the Musical, the Regional Premiere of On Your Feet, Rock of Ages, Flashdance - the Musical, and Guys and Dolls. He is also the director/choreographer/co-writer of A Wall Apart, an original rock musical about the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall, with music and lyrics by Lord Graham Russell of the multi-platinum group Air Supply. Keith directed and choreographed the Regional Premiere of A Wall Apart at the Grand Theatre in Salt Lake City in the summer of 2019. Keith continues to direct and choreograph student performance showcases at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC, helping to ensure the future of professional theatre! SARAH STOWELL (Assistant to the Director) is thrilled to return to Tuacahn for their 2022 season! Sarah was the Associate Director of Mary Poppins, currently playing on the Amphitheatre stage. Last year, she worked on Tuacahn’s productions of School of Rock and The Count of Monte Cristo as the Directing Intern. Previously, Sarah spent two seasons as an Assistant Director at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, working on The Foreigner, The Merchant of Venice, The Book of Will, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She has worked for Tuacahn for many years and also attended Tuacahn high school. Graduating in 2019 she then started at SUU and presently is getting her BFA in Stage Management. She has worked as a Production Electrician, Spot op, Light Board op and many other positions here at Tuacahn. With addition to PA for the productions of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder and Elf the Musical. KEVIN SMITH (CEO & Executive Producer) has been with Tuacahn for over 20 years. He has produced or co-produced more than 60 professional Broadway musical productions, as part of Tuacahn’s Broadway in the Canyon theater series and has presented more than 550 major professional concerts and events.
Kevin has a BS in Sociology with a minor in Business Management from Brigham Young University and a Master of Education Degree from Southern Utah University. He serves on the Greater Zion Tourism Advisory Board and on the Zions Bank Regional Advisory Board. Kevin would like to dedicate this season to his late wife, Rebecca, who passed away from cancer last year. She was one of Tuacahn’s greatest fans! Kevin has four children, two daughtersin-law and a granddaughter. Kevin recently married Liz Erickson who has six children, two sons-in-law and three grandchildren, making a combined family of 20 between the two of them. SHARI JORDAN (Associate Artistic Producer/Casting Coordinator) from Raleigh, NC, began her professional career as an actor in the National Tour of Crazy for You (Tess). She has since performed from NYC to LA. Shari began at Tuacahn in 2010 as dance captain for Crazy for You. She has performed at Tuacahn for the nine seasons and been the dance captain for 17 shows. Tuacahn audiences may remember Shari as Rosie in Mama Mia!, the Mother in the World Premier of Disney’s When You Wish, Mama Bear in Shrek, and Madame in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Shari performed the role of Ulla and every other female role in Mel Brooks’ The Producers on the Broadway National Tour as well as the Las Vegas production with Tony Danza and

Shari was an assistant choreographer to five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman for the historic Hollywood Bowl’s production of The Producers and performed the role of Shirley Markowitz. She is also in the film of The Producers. Shari was a Radio City Rockette for six seasons and a national champion baton twirler. Director/ Choreographer/Assistant credits include The Stage Door, Hollywood Bowl, University of Michigan, Pittsburgh CLO, North Shore Music Theatre, North Carolina Theatre and TNT’s Emmy winning AFI’s Tribute to Mel Brooks in which Shari had a featured role. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of N.C. State University. Shari produced her first season in 2019 and since the world turned upside down, she has been tirelessly working to bring professional theatre back to the stage. Her tenacity stemmed from the strong desire to put artists back to work and bring joy to the audience in a way that can only be found watching a live performance. Theatre is a noble profession! Zoe has worked for the Ambassador Theater Group in the West End, alongside being an Event’s Manager across London. CAMERAS AND RECORDING DEVICES Federal copyright laws prohibit the use of cameras and recording devices during a show. Violators may be asked to leave the theatre without a refund and may be subject to copyright infringement actions. Cameras may be used on the plaza level before and after the show. CELLULAR PHONES Please turn off all cell phones and other electronic devices. Texting is distracting to guests sitting near you and is not allowed. CHILDREN Children under the age of 5 are not permitted into the Hafen Theatre. All guests age 5 and above must have their own ticket. Tuacahn provides Tuacahn ShowCare, an on-site child care service for children from infancy through 7 years old. TICKET INFO Ticket Pricing is based on demand and can be changed daily. Prices are only guaranteed at the time the order is processed. For best seating and prices, order your tickets early. CONCESSIONS Tuacahn Concessions offers a variety of delicious foods and drinks, including regular and speciality popcorn, hot dogs, ice cream, soft drinks and much more. THE L. DOUGLAS AND MARIAN B. HOUSE MANAGERS Our house managers are in the Hafen Theatre for your safety and to ensure our guests have a pleasant stay while at Tuacahn. Any usher can help you locate a house manager if you need assistance or help with any situation. EMERGENCY In the event of an emergency, please walk to the nearest exit and follow instructions given by staff and ushers. FIRST AID CENTER Contact an usher or house manager in case of an emergency. LATE ARRIVALS OR PATRONS RETURNING DURING THE SHOW You will be seated at an appropriate break in the performance. INCLEMENT WEATHER Weather related cancellations are extremely rare. Many performances will continue in the rain. A production is never cancelled in advance. Should there be a cancellation, listen for the information provided in the live announcements.
