WELCOME

UTAH SYMPHONY

MASTERWORKS SERIES

The Planets September 12 DEAR PATRONS, DONORS, AND FRIENDS, Did you know that when the Utah Symphony or Ballet West performs in Ogden, they are being sponsored by a local nonprofit organization? Many people in the audience do not realize that these local performances, which have been taking place since 1949, would not be possible without the hard work, dedication, and donations of residents and businesses in the Ogden area. What the audience hopefully does realize is that once they see who is onstage, they will spend the next hour or two enjoying only the finest in classical music and dance. As we celebrate 70 years of presenting world-class performing arts to you, we also introduce our new name – Onstage Ogden: What looks like a colon at the end of the name serves two purposes. It actually represents double O’s as an abbreviated form of our name. It also serves as a signal that something else is coming. It could be incomparable classical music with the Utah Symphony, an energetic vocal show by an a capella group that tours the world, or the Great Russian Nutcracker performed by the Moscow Ballet. But it could also be a concert providing aspiring local musicians the opportunity to audition and perform in front of a larger audience with the chance to receive an award from the Jean Pell Performing Arts Scholarship Fund.

DEVELOPMENT INFORMATION Onstage Ogden is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization, with a rich history of presenting only the finest music and dance in the City of Ogden. For 70 years, we have honored this reputation and preserved our legacy for the betterment of the greater Ogden community. For our 70th anniversary, our fundraising goals have never been more important. In our 2019–20 Season, we have expanded programming to include a Downtown Series, added a fifth Masterworks Concert back into our regular season, and this year we will present more individual concerts than during any known prior season. In celebration of these exciting happenings, we have launched our $70,000 fundraising drive. We will recognize individuals and families who give $70 and up in all printed programs, and online during the 2019–20 Season. This $70,000 campaign will be used to achieve our mission to energize and engage the Greater Ogden community by presenting only the finest music and dance. Will you join us in donating $70 or more to help us reach this goal? According to IRS guidelines, a portion of your donation may be tax deductible.

Accessibility Wheelchair and companion seating is available at all performances. The Browning Center has an Induction Loop Hearing System (T-Coil). Assistive hearing devices are also available. Please call for any additional needs. The Ride Onstage Ogden offers seniors in Weber County free door-to-door transportation to and from any concert. Call our office to sign up. Age Guidelines Unless otherwise stated, Child Tickets are for children 12 and under only. Although there is no strict age requirement for our shows, we offer the following suggested guideline: • For Utah Symphony Masterworks, Utah Symphony Entertainment, and Dance & Vocal Series concerts—at least 8 years old; • For Nutcracker performances—at least 3 years old; • For Utah Symphony Family Series concerts— no babes in arms. Please note that we expect all patrons— regardless of age—to refrain from disrupting other patrons. Disruptive patrons will be asked to leave. Exception: Utah Symphony Family shows are specifically designed with the youngest music lovers in mind. Family Series performances are less than an hour long and welcome audience noise and ‘wiggles.’ Interested in bringing your group of 10 or more to one of our concerts? Contact us for details about special rates and accommodations.
