NOTES FROM: ARTISTIC DIRECTOR When people ask what it’s like to be part of the creative process that brings spectacular musicals to life on a stage unlike any other, I can sum it up with the same word audiences use to describe the finished product: Unforgettable. The talent of more than 1,300 people we’ve seen during the audition process amazes me. The ingenious designs and technical skills of the costume and set design teams is enough to take your breath away. We’ve done the work behind the scenes and now all the audience has to do is get swept away on a journey deep below the ocean for a whole new look at Disney’s The Little Mermaid, across the rolling green hills of Austria in The Sound of Music and into a young girl’s dream in Disney’s When You Wish. And that’s just in the outdoor amphitheater. Inside the Hafen Theatre, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder is easily one of the funniest shows I’ve seen on Broadway. Add to that the Christmas classic, Elf the Musical, and you have a top-notch theatrical lineup you won’t want to miss. This year we decided to recreate some of our popular productions from the past. But even if you’ve seen one of these shows at Tuacahn before, you’ve never seen them like this. When You Wish features several new songs and a surprise at the end; The Little Mermaid comes with a new director and an entirely new set and costume design; and the moving message in the classic Sound of Music is a piece of the past that is still relevant to our future. Get the most out of your Tuacahn experience by purchasing a 2019 Broadway Season Package and take advantage of these great benefits: ¬¬ ¬¬ ¬¬ ¬¬ ¬¬ ¬¬

Lowest price for all three Broadway shows 20% savings on most concerts 15% savings on Elf The Musical Priority access to concert seats Complimentary valet for premium season package holders Notice of special offers for season ticket holders

Come immerse yourself in the experience of Tuacahn and learn why the only way to describe it is ‘unforgettable.’ Scott S. Anderson

MISSION: Tuacahn edifies and inspires the human spirit through professional world-class family entertainment and an unparalleled artistic and academic experience that matches the majesty of our canyon. Known best for its professional theatre, Tuacahn attracts the most talented actors in America. Each year, thousands of applicants audition from New York City to Los Angeles. Tuacahn productions include professional Equity Actors, many of whom have performed on Broadway or in other nationally recognized venues. As a community asset, Tuacahn entertains more than 300,000 patrons each year, with musicals, concerts, shopping, food, and other special events. Tuacahn is Utah’s largest professional non-profit theatre and acts as an economic engine generating an annual impact of more than $100 million. Visitors stay in hotels, dine at restaurants, and shop at retail outlets while enjoying recreational activities in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Tuacahn High School (THS) for the Performing Arts is Utah’s first public charter school, opening in 1999. THS offers an intimate college and career preparatory academic experience with a focus on the arts - music, dance, drama, musical theatre, visual arts, and technical theatre. There is no tuition for Utah residents and out-of-state students pay a modest investment to attend. Combined with the Amphitheatre, there is no other high school experience comparable to Tuacahn High School.
