Bollywood movies and all of its facets – music, dance, dialogues, actors, creators – influence, inspire, and imbibe the life of millions of people worldwide, including the creators and producers of Bollywood Boulevard Heena Patel and Rushi Vakil. This show’s inspiration came from the desire to share the joy and spirit of this industry and all that it entails with lifelong fans and novices alike. Bollywood Boulevard is a collaboration between creatives in the US and India, all of whom have been impacted by Bollywood in their lives. Through the show, the team strives to evoke in the audiences the joy and love that are hallmarks of Bollywood. Learn more about the movies and songs in the show at bollywoodblvdshow.com/postshow HEENA PATEL (Executive Producer, Artistic Director) is originally from Toronto and now splits her time between New York and India. Heena grew up learning and performing Indian folk dances and Bollywood dance, before becoming a choreographer and founder of several award-winning Indian dance teams and organizations. After moving to India, she trained in Indian classical music before becoming an arts professional, assuming the roles of artist manager and agent. Today, Heena is a cultural strategist and performing arts specialist for South Asian arts – curating, creating, and supporting South Asian performing arts and artists through her company MELA Arts Connect. Bollywood movies, music, and dancing play a central role in some of Heena’s fondest memories. Bollywood Boulevard is a way for her to share her love for all things “filmi” with others. THE OTHER MOZART

THE UNTOLD STORY OF MOZART’S PRODIGY SISTER February 22-23 • Dumke Recital Hall Sylvia Milo’s award-winning The Other Mozart is the true, untold story of Nannerl Mozart, the sister of Amadeus — a prodigy, keyboard virtuoso, and composer, who performed throughout Europe with her brother to equal acclaim, but her work and her story faded away, lost to history. With the opulent beauty of the dress and hair design, the sweet smell of perfume and the clouds of dusting powder rising from the stage, The Other Mozart transports the audience into a world of outsized beauty and delight – but also of overwhelming restrictions and prejudice where, finally, this other Mozart tells her story.
