Her bilingual record, Up.Rooted, topped both the Amazon and Latin iTunes charts following a feature on NPR’s All Things Considered and has been hailed by The Boston Globe, USA Today, and Texas Monthly. Her Tiny Desk concert made NPR’s top 15 of 2015. Fresh off a 10-country tour as a cultural ambassador with the U.S. State Department, Chavez’s passionate collection of bilingual songs take audiences on a journey through the Americas, blending the sounds and rhythms of the region with tension and grace. Her Spanish-language anthem, “Siete-D” (Grand Prize winner of the 2014 John Lennon Songwriting Contest) recounts her experience volunteering in a gang-dominated suburb of San Salvador where she is a cofounder of The Niñas Arriba College Fund for young Latinas. 6

FROM BACH TO BOWIE April 5 • Kingsbury Hall Combining technical precision, power, and passion, Complexions Contemporary Ballet transcends tradition in a groundbreaking mix of styles ranging from ballet to hip hop. Founded by former members of Alvin Ailey, Desmond Richardson and Dwight Rhoden, the company has been featured several times on the hit show So You Think You Can Dance. This season, the company performs an exhilarating program full of glitter and glam featuring Star Dust, an “utterly transfixing” tribute to the life and music of David Bowie.

Back by popular demand, Scott Silven brings his intimate stage show back to Kingsbury Hall for two more nights of wonder and awe. Silven creates an immersive theatrical experience that draws audiences in through artful storytelling, a little patron participation, and a captivating bit of mystery. With seating on the stage at Kingsbury Hall, this intimate show harnesses Silven’s training in hypnosis, psychology, and the performing arts for an uncommon evening of awe-inspiring intrigue.

In the event of an emergency, please walk to the nearest exit and follow instructions given by theatre personnel and ushers. Auditorium exits are clearly marked with lighted exit signs above each door. Move away from the building to a safe place.

Late-comers will be seated in accordance with the seating guidelines of the individual production.

Cameras and recording devices are strictly forbidden unless permission for their use is authorized in writing by theatre management.

Ticket office is located on the lower plaza at Kingsbury Hall, east of the main staircase. For ticket information, call 801-581-7100.

Children under six are not admitted to performances. All patrons must have a ticket regardless of age. Lap sitting is not allowed.

Lost and found is located in the ticket office or by asking the house manager. Please leave your name, phone number and description of the lost item with the ticket office (581-7100) or house manager.

Disabled parking is located on the east side of Kingsbury Hall via Presidents Circle.

Food and drink are not allowed in the auditorium.
