ENVIRONMENTAL BUILDING SERVICES
ASBESTOS & LEAD-BASED PAINT SURVEYS Milone & MacBroom’s trained and licensed professionals can provide extensive asbestos and lead-based paint inspections for small renovation projects to total demolition of large structures. After the survey is complete, MMI can assist your firm’s compliance with the multiple complex regulations set by the local, state, and federal government. Milone & MacBroom has extensive experience in preparing plans and specifications for remedial actions including enclosure, encapsulation, and partial/complete removal. Our experienced staff can also provide certified technicians for air sampling during the abatement process.
ASBESTOS HAZARD EMERGENCY RESPONSE ACT (AHERA) MMI conducts the regulated 3-year, and 6-month, AHERA inspections for public and private, non-profit, school systems. Our licensed asbestos project designers develop and execute abatement work plans/ specifications and provide project oversight during such activities. We prepare management plans that provide specific procedures for operating and working safely around asbestos containing building materials. Commercial plans include operation and maintenance programs that explain how to protect a building’s maintenance and house-keeping personnel, tenants, and occupants from exposure.
INDOOR AIR QUALITY ASSESSMENTS Milone & MacBroom is equipped to provide an array of air monitoring services to evaluate employee exposures and compliance with OSHA standards. Our industrial hygiene professionals will analyze your environment for practically any dust, fume, mist, vapor, workplace chemicals, radon, potential allergens (i.e., dusts, mold, bio-aerosols), or gas which may be present at your facility or work site.
POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENYL (PCB) SAMPLING Milone & MacBroom performs testing for suspect PCB materials, which includes window/door caulking and glazing, textured paints, roofing materials, floor system mastic, and possible other plasticizers and adhesives from suspect locations. PCBs are known to leach into existing building substrate materials located adjacent to PCB-containing materials. If results of suspect building materials are less than one part per million, substrate sampling is not necessary. MMI is also experienced in developing specifications/remedial plans for the disposal of substrate materials/soils containing PCBs at a concentration above 50 ppm, which requires disposal at a USEPA TSCA-approved landfill.
Milone & MacBroom offers a diverse set of specialty practice services and experience that allow us to undertake a wide range of projects, meet complex requirements, and take on challenging schedules to bring projects from the planning level through design and construction.
