Learn. Experience. Taste.
What is a SLOcavore?
BEYOND just “eating local”, Cal Poly SLOcavore is about experiencing the unique bounty of the Central Coast through its foods, wines, lifestyle, and stewards of
the land. Through a series of workshops, events and public engagements beginning in 2014, we invite you to an insider’s taste of the SLO life.
In keeping with the Cal Poly Learn by Doing tradtion, our offerings will focus on experiential education that will depen your understanding of what you see, taste and explore.
Local: San Luis Obispo LOCATED in the heart of the region, San Luis Obispo is surrounded by some of the world’s most beautiful coastline and mountains, yet is within easy access of the Los Angeles and San Francisco metropolitain areas. California’s Central Coast is home to a rich agricultural tradition. Today, it is at the center of a blossoming artisan food and wine culture.
