Ms HBN Banner goes to the Seaside Chris Thomas
Ms HBN Banner was sitting on the sofa with Mr Monty. She had had a busy day at the Wood Green Business Fair! "Would you like to go to the seaside tomorrow?" asked Mr Chairperson. "Oh! Yes Please," said Ms Banner
The next day Ms Banner was all ready to go. "I'll drive" she said and off they set, to the North Beach at Hunstanton.
When they reached the beach, Ms Banner ran down onto the warm sand. She covered herself in sunscreen to avoid sunburn. Then Ms Banner lay down and sunbathed in the glorious sunshine for a little while.
Ms Banner did not stay still for long. She met some other people on the beach and made friends. They played together on the beach until MS Banner's new friends had to go home.
Ms Banner picked up her red bucket and her yellow spade. She ran onto the wet sand and began digging. Ms Banner filled her buckets with sand and used them to make this lovely sand castle. "You will have to wait a long time for the sea to come." said Mr Chairperson. "It's low tide!
The sun was very warm and Ms Banner thought she would cool off in a little pool. She carefully put her toe into the water to make sure. "Oh, it's lovely and refreshing!" she cried out in delight.
The favourite game that Ms Banner played with the water was to build dams. Because Ms Banner was so flexible and long, she could stretch right across a little stream. Soon there was a growing pool behind her home-made dam. Till the water sneaked by on one side!
Thoroughly wet from playing in the water, Ms Banner found a fun way of drying off. Mr Chairperson held both her ends and whoosh, the wind lifted her up. "I'm flying!" she shouted. Mr Chairperson had to hold on very tight or else Ms Banner would have been blown away!
Once dry, Ms Banner warmed herself in the sun on one of the rocks. "Those cliffs are just as stripy as me," she thought to herself.
"Oh! I shall get sand inbetween my folds again," cried Ms Banner. "I will carry you," said Mr Chairperson kindly. So Ms Banner sat on his shoulder and waved at the other people on the beach.
It had been a long day. All the excitement had made Ms Banner very tired. So she curled up against Mr Chairperson and he carried the sleepy Ms Banner back to the car and took her back home.
Later that night, Ms Banner was snuggled up in bed with Mr Monty. "Did you enjoy your day out at the seaside?" he asked. "Mmmmm" said Ms Banner, "it was lovely!" And she promptly fell asleep.
