In the later part of the decade, the fashion world embraced the “hippie” aesthetic that emerged from the streets and youth of the day. Flowing skirts and dresses, denim, fringed vests, paisley prints, and beading was everywhere. Secondhand clothing and obviously handmade items were a hallmark of the aesthetic.
