Welcome The 2014.15 season opens with a remarkable performance: Music Director Edo de Waart, the MSO, and a stunning array of internationally-acclaimed artists come together for Mozart’s timeless opera Don Giovanni. The story, every bit as enchanting. The music, even 227 years after it was written, is fresh as ever. With our 55th season on the books, the power of music brings us all back — audience and musicians alike — for the 56th time.

An orchestra concert is where “people go to find their souls. Having worked so hard to lose them, people come and sit in the dark under the spell of music and are reminded of their humanity.

— GARRISON KEILLOR

Open your ears. Open your heart. Let the music in. Because there’s nothing like the sound of a live performance.

Jennifer Higdon: “river sings a song to trees” from City Scape Brahms: Ein deutsches Requiem Requiem,, Op. 45 “A German Requiem” It was a work Brahms labored over for a dozen years. Acclaimed conductor Robert Spano leads the Milwaukee Symphony and Chorus in Brahms’s poetic settings from the Bible, A German Requiem.
