RACHMANINOFF’S SECOND CONCERTO He was plagued by self-doubt. And had abandoned his music. But when inspired to compose again, Sergei Rachmaninoff wrote the music that would make him immortal. Boris Giltburg, the Moscow-born Israeli virtuoso plays the Second Piano Concerto. “His vision will place him among the truly memorable Rachmaninoff interpreters, an elect including Horowitz, Richter, and Cliburn,” raves Gramophone. And Karina Canellakis conducts Stravinsky’s savage masterpiece, The Rite of Spring.
