I am delighted to be the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s new Stein Family Foundation Principal Pops Conductor. I have had so much fun performing with this fantastic orchestra, getting to know this wonderful city, and sharing the joy of music with all of you. I am looking forward to presenting three electrifying programs this season, celebrating the iconic music of the Jazz Age and New Orleans, performing the classic hits of The Beatles, and grooving to the incredible music of Motown and the Philly Sound.

For one night only, MacArthur Fellow and Grammy Award-winning mandolinist, singer, and songwriter, Chris Thile, joins the MSO for “ATTENTION! (A narrative song cycle for extroverted mandolinist and orchestra)” at the Bradley Symphony Center. A founding member of the critically acclaimed bands Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek, Thile creates a distinctly American canon and a new musical aesthetic for performers and audiences alike.
Emmy-award nominated composer, singer-songwriter and pianist Ben Folds brings to his debut performance at the Bradley Symphony Center his “gift for storytelling and keen observations on the small, universal moments in life that make us human.” (NPR Music) Folds, who serves as Artistic Advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra in DC, is widely regarded as one of the major music influencers of his generation, reflected in his brilliantly orchestrated and power driven symphonic repertoire.
