Custom LED Signs and Custom Neon Signs

The first thing you want to consider when purchasing a custom neon or LED sign is your price range. The cost for custom signs is determined by the size of the sign, the intricacy of the design, the amount of text or lettering on the sign, and the type of font selected, whether it is single stroke or double stroke. Most reputable online sites which offer custom signs will provide the customer with a free sample sign image and price quote before asking you to pay for the sign should you decide to purchase it.

There are other considerations to take into account when deciding which company to select. You might ask yourself, is this company an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau and what is the BBB rating for this company? If so, you will want to click on the BBB seal, and if authentic, it will link you to the BBB profile page for that company and you can see the actual complaints filed against that company, if any. You may also want to read some customer testimonials and view some actual photos of signs that the company has designed and manufactured for previous customers.

Here are a few of the questions you will want to answer before requesting a custom sign sample image and price quote:

What size will the sign be? Will it be for indoor or outdoor use? What colors do you want the sign to be? Will you want text only, logo only, or both on the sign? What font do you want to use for your sign? How large do you want the letters to be? How far away is your target audience? What type is your target audience, passing cars or pedestrians or both? Do you want a part of the sign to flash or all of it to flash?

As previously mentioned, you should decide on the maximum price you can afford for a sign. There's no point in having a sign designed that will cost in excess of $1000 when your budget will only allow you to spend $500. Many websites offer pre-designed sign templates with logos and borders which allow you to enter the text, and then view a wide variety of sign images and prices to choose from. Beware of websites which offer up to X amount of letters. The quantity of characters determines the cost to manufacture the sign and typically this type of pricing will always be on the high end since no company wants to offer more letters than the pre-set cost of the sign will afford. In other words, if a sign is the same price for 4 letters or 14 letters, and you only need six letters, you can rest assured that you will still pay for the maximum number of letters. Preferably, use a company which prices according to the number of letters you need and the size of the sign.
