Academic Work

Diploma atelier Mario Botta | 2015 RICUCITURE (SEWN UP) The atelier addressed the creation of a university campus in Mendrisio through a precise “architectural acupuncture”. Each student chose a programme and site. I drafted an archive with a research space aimed at architectural theory, to satisfy the growing need of such a structure in the Accademia, foreseeing an ulterior “jump” with the addition of the new SUPSI faculty of interior architecture in the next few years. With Mendrisio becoming a reference for architecture education, this research institute will have a symbolic importance comparable to that of a church in ancient times, a true and new fulcrum for intellectual activity.

SHUTTERING PANELS LAYOUT AND CEILING FANS PLAN

Professional Work

Vāstu Shilpā Consultants (Internship | September 2011 to August 2012) PREMASHRAYA (also PREMASHRAYA AT RAJARHAT) Location: Kolkata (Calcutta), India. A large Indian company seized the initiative to build a free hospital for cancer treatment, siding it with a unique group-housing facility that will provide an economical, hygienic and homely alternative to its patients and their families. Moreover, Premashraya is drafted to promote an active and vibrant environment of community and also a center for education and vocational training.

The project was already under construction when I joined the team. My contribution to the project: + Construction details: shuttering panels, ceiling fans, bathrooms, kitchens, stone walls’ layouts... + Interior and exterior renders (Cinema 4D and Photoshop). + Choice of part of the furniture for the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and common living areas. + Choice of part of the materials and colors for interior and exterior finish. + Graphic design of some presentations to the clients.

Professional Work

Vāstu Shilpā Consultants (Internship | September 2011 to August 2012) VESSEL PLINTH Location: Mumbai (Bombay), India. The clients commissioned a brick structure as a new plinth for their collection of sculpture. The project is located in their villa’s garden and was intended for usage mainly during social happenings, as both a display and seating area.

The project’s concept, general draft and design is by Sönke Hoof, partner of VSC. My contribution to the project: + Fine tuning of the design. + Construction details. + Construction drawings, drafted with the collaboration of the office’s consultants. Note: the image in the preceding page has been produced in 2015 as personal work.

Academic Work

BAC3 atelier Go Hasegawa | 2013 ARCHITECTURE AND NATURE | THERMAE Location: Leukerbad I concentrated on offering a new experience of bathing with the objective of aiding the contact between human and nature. This point of contact will also filter the different scales we move in: the body, the bathers, the water, the clearing in the forest, the woodland, the valley, the distant peaks and the sky.

Academic Work

BAC2 atelier Kersten Geers | 2010 THE DOUBLE STUDIO Location: Davis house & studio, Malibu, California. 1968-72. arch. Frank O. Gehry. The project consisted in the addition of a small house for guests, domestic aids et al. to an extant villa, studying and adopting a style similar (yet personal) to that of the original project and building.

Personal Work 2012 JAIPUR, INDIA

Digital photography. One of my greatest interest is to study through photography the visual flattening and geometrical construction of space. Photography as a mean of analysis of the visual space.

Personal Work

2012 AHMEDABAD, INDIA Watercolour and pen on paper. Sketches must aid the comprehension of the represented subject. The scope is not only to represent but also to understand. Sketch as a way to communicate.
