ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO MIN-TSUNG CHENG
About me I am currently studying at the University of New South Wales and in my final year of my masters degree. I am seeking a job opportunity with a architecture firm to furthur expand my knowledge and to gain experience within the working enviroment. My interests is to work with all kinds and sizes of projects, since I have no experience within a architecture office. I believe that there always is always a opportunity to learn something new and exciting with every project. I have a good eye for attention to detail, along with being a strong communicator and work collaboratively with my colleagues. I am a hard working individual who is imaginative, creative, energetic and full of respct for others. My personality will definalety be worth having around in the office, as I believe I am the right fit for this job position.

RESILENT NEIGHBOURHOODS GRADUATION THESIS STUDIO - PART 1
PROJECT BRIEF
Bondi Beach / SYDNEY Education and learning is a part of every individual’s experience whether how impacting it may be, big or small and where that can lead them to throughout their life time. This experience is not linear as there are many considerations and factors which affect ones perspective and mindset to how they see and understand the ideas and meanings behind a collage of tangable & intangable goods. Through this book is a research and developing conceptual staging on the Wayside Chapel buildings in Bondi. The exploration comes from a cross critical thinking and drawing the inter-relationships between the WaysideChapel,Bondi,Communities and Resilence to immerse these all together. The question in regards to how my research has currently developed is one that looks at the ideas of basic needs and the idea that a individual, community can be more resilent through a provides strong network of learning and education. So my research question is ‘How Can Wayside Chapel be the Catalyst for a more Resilent community in Bondi’? IMPORTANT - THIS PROJECT IS ONLY PART 1, SEMESTER 1 OF A YEAR LONG FINAL GRADUATION THESIS STUDIO PROJECT. MANY OF THE SEEN WORKS HAVE DEVELOPED FROM RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS. THE SEEN WORK SUBJECT TO CHANGE OVER THE NEXT STAGES LEADING UP OT THE FINAL SUBMISSION.

KOOLARA COMMUNITY CENTRE
PROJECT BRIEF
Malabar / SYDNEY The redevelopment proposal of Koolara Community Centre came at a natural foreseen circumstance from the client from the site visit. The function of this building is for the gathering of the dynamic communities of the local area and neighbourhoods and for all those who wish to come. Upon arrival of the site the community centre is quiet rather a stand alone building at the same time integrated as part of the site it is located in. The forecourt and entrance the building is rather ineffective and congested, along with the main cross over circulation paths with the building. To work around this I have decided to pull and extend the building further and out. This design intention is for a visual connection and interaction at each cross over circulation path, with proper open space beside for a less congested community environment. The Early Learning Centre (ELC) room 1 I have intentionally connected it with the ELC room 2 with a central shared craft space for the childern to interact within the spaces. With level changes, visual connections, changes in materiality, intensity of lighting and various heights. The kitchen is places in the centre focal point of the community centre. To serve both community and ELC.

PROJECT DESIGN RESEARCH
The goal is to build towards potential; a personal and collective teleology welcomed by design. Here the enviroment directs as a third teacher which listens and gives voice to the many languages of ways children learn. It thus opens space for disclosure and discovery, acting as a scafold for the construction of cognition, and moreover, the formation of independence via the recognition of will. Social interaction sets the stage for the respective individuals to play and learn, where character and role are assumed.

‘ BARRABUWARI MURU ’
PROJECT BRIEF
Australian Museum Extension Project / Darlinghurst / SYDNEY The Australian Museum’s Master Plan encompasses a bold vision for a world-leading natural history and culture museum. Named barrabuwari muru, meaning ‘future path’ in Sydney’s Indigenous language, the Master Plan sets the course for the 190 year old Australian Museum to reclaim its place as a museum of international standing, opening more of its historic site to the public and showcasing more of its collection of over 18 million objects. The vision for the future museum includes a new multi-story building on the AM’s eastern quarter on the corner of William and Yurong Streets, which will also extend over the top of the existing structures, while recognising the heritage of the historic site. In addition to providing more space to display the AM’s extensive collection, the Master Plan’s vision includes: • A Grand Hall at the centre of the site, more than 70 metres long surrounded by historic sandstone walls and accommodating up to 2,000 people for gala events and conferences. • A new large temporary exhibition space attracting major international blockbusters, allowing Sydney to compete on a global stage.
