MOeX’s programmatic arrangement implicitly references the cathedral plan to ridicule religious homophobic history of the place. Musuem clusters at the western entrance, greets visitors by the “queer baptistery” or “the social toilet”, before one entering the “nave” of this LGBTQI museum.

MUSEUM
The eastern end main library space is the “altar”, filled with light and empowerment... Not through holiness, but knowledge. What one sacrifices here is time, the time to read, learn and contributing to LGBTQI research and history. Underwater, there is a “sacristy” or reserved library, holding those sacred texts of LGBTQI community.

Having the researchers’ office right above the BOH of museum and library, the researchers are able to look over onto the foyer of museum as well as the “queer baptistery” in order to help them with their research work through daily observations.
None of the toilets in this project are sexually segregated. At the same time, within MOeX, they are ironically grand and arguably more luxurious than the main museum space, to contradict the notion of toilet just being a space of necessity than of sexual identity establishment.

ith accelerated evolution in technology, globalized demographical topography and
increased consciousness on environmental impact of human activities, culture and tradition of death is challenged (Wilson and Chiveralls). Keijzer et al. (2011) found that out of four funeral types, namely burial, cremation, cryomation and resomation, burial and cremation cause significant environmental impact. Yet, the fear and heaviness that is instilled by the word ‘death’, due to its unpredictability, its unknownness, its association with our lost, the kind of lost that is anthropocentric, most of the people avoid discussion of such topic, while the need of discourse on it never diminished. It is undeniable that funeral rites and cemeteries have been an integral part of human history and culture (Wilson and Chiveralls), but what becomes questionable is whether such remembrance of loved ones inevitably has to be built on top of the compromising of other species. We, humans, seem to forget that we used to be much more inclusive. “We” was not a concept to just refer to human, but to mean the city; “we” often crossed the species line (Weston 1991). To weaken the supremacy and the kind of human’s egoistic exclusivity, there is a need for human to have a “genuine encounter” with other species, there is a need of space and context to allow that kind of “genuine encounter” by “opening the possibility of being touched rather than touching, whatever — we can hardly yet say” (Weston 1991). To challenge the constantly anthropocentrizing “rationale” in the majority and the current problematic understanding of cemeteries and funerals, this ought to be questioned: “Can architecture recreate a more sustainable death culture in human, a death culture that is beyond anthropocentric, a death culture that remembers of not only the dead ones but also the “living ones”, all the “living ones”… ” With that, a tower is proposed in the urban fabric of Hobart for the living and dead.

ike a complex of complexity, anticipating all kinds of unpredictability which excites whoever that awaits the
patrons, students, all become the algorithm of this complexity, bound by those ‘erratic’ spaces within the bu only individuals in the space, but also the indoor and outdoor green spaces across this ‘mini city’. It becomes
absolutely confined by classical linear kinds of variables. The very core of this design is not just to recognise th
a diverse, yet intriguingly unpredictable outcome. Ranges of dissimilar differentiated spaces are designed to

A
rusty parasite, crawling over the parish church of Gubin. A reincarnation of city’s heart, destroyed in World War 2 and now reborn with a juxtoposition of form and function. The crawling metal looks over to the busy part of the after-war-Gubin, while holding in itself a space that allows creative gathering, a theatre. Within the ruin, the bibliothèque calls upon the city to read and read and read, never again, to repeat the same mistake we make in the history. This space of knowledge, is not a quiet one. Recitals and chamber musics will beautifully echo and haunt this once religious space to remind the patrons of its unsettling history. Beneath, a market is revitalised, but she will shelter her patrons underground, away from the painful war. A large pool of water lies between these patrons and the sky, allowing the underground market to be lit, connecting these sheltered patrons back with the sky. The market proliferates, subtly underground outwards into its surrounding, as if it was carved out by the parasite itself, demarcating the diffusion space from the indoor market into the outdoor market.

ibrary is a place of serenity and indulgence of knowledge. It is a place by itself that extends beyond, onto
the civic square of Launceston becomes the ideal spot to cater this typology of building which requires adja
square. Its plinth, servers as the stage of civic events such as mayor’s speech; at the same time, its ground ho
facade not only presents itself as a juxtoposition against exciting moments in front of it, meanwhile, it murmu old Macquarie House, yet bold and naked like the Henty House.
