Here’s the reality: there’s nothing special or out-of-the-ordinary about Alexis Skyy dedicating her life to Christ. People from all walks of life do it every day. In fact, this work of God’s grace is what should be expected as a result of the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As much as some seem to think that Christianity is trending among well-known socialites and public figures who are professing their faith in God recently — sharing similar stories, taking comparable steps, publicly declaring their faith through baptism (which Alexis intends to do on her 29th birthday this year) — remain assured that God’s Word lays any concerns to rest, telling us in Ecclesiastes 1:9, “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”

The life of a believer becomes even more special when others can see God’s handiwork in their lives — a molding of their heart, a change in their actions — which the Lord so beautifully commends. Alexis Skyy is well on her way, putting in the work so others can see: she’s a new creation in God. All the changes that she has professed represent the basic first steps and signs of entering a new relationship with God. But when the habits and routines that she has set in place really start to root and blossom into a life of being led by the Spirit of God, in all facets of her life … LOOK OUT, DEVIL!

Before the internet, the work of salvation in the life of a new follower of Christ took place in the limited sight of family, friends, and the “church folk” in the church that the new believer attended. Now, with twenty-first century broadband internet and social media capabilities, MB Magazine and its readers are allowed to rally around Alexis and her daughter in prayer and in faith that God will continue to perfect the work which He has begun. May His blessings and kindness be their portion. We rejoice in celebration of the miraculous change that is unfolding in their lives.
