The risks of environmental accidents and litigation can be identified, managed and continually reduced by implementing an EMS based on ISO 14001. Operating an effective environmental management system relies upon an effective audit by a competent EMS auditor. This requires a comprehensive understanding of risk assessment, risk management and improvement processes. The IRCA EMS auditor programme supports the third party certification of ISO 14001. We certify different categories of auditors - those employed by certification body/registrars, consultants and internal auditors as well as developing and promoting good auditor training and auditing best practice. ISO 14001 LEAD AUDITOR COURSE Introduction: On successfully completing the course, delegates will be capable of performing effective audits of companies’ Environmental management systems and reporting the outcome. They will be able to audit a company’s Environmental management system and determine whether or not it meets the requirements of ISO 14000. The course is certified by IRCA (Certificate number A17024) and is IATCA compliant. Delegates who successfully complete the course assessment and written examination will fulfill the training requirements for certification as an IRCA EMS Auditor, Lead Auditor (and Internal Auditor) and IATCA requirements for certification as a EMS Auditor/Senior Auditor.

Course Methodology: •

All attendants shall be provided with a hard copy of the training material.

Presentation via a data show (power point presentation), white board and flip charts.

Attendants shall be encouraged to interact with the course instructor through presenting their queries during the training sessions.

Real life examples relating to the training materials shall be presented by the instructor and discussed by the group.

Teaching strategies will involve interactive and participant-centered discussions. Group and pair-work structured exercises for each learning module, and Power Point Presentations.
