The Minhaj College Manchester aims to provide Islamic scholarship to meet the many challenges faced by 2nd and 3rd generation British Muslims. The MCM is committed to teaching to the highest standard of Islamic education with its Intermediate Diploma in Islamic Studies (IDIIS), which will draw on both traditional and contemporary texts for its students.

The Minhaj College Manchester (MCM) is a continuation of the existing efforts of the Jamia Islamia Minhaj-ul-Quran. The Jamia Islamia Minhaj-ul-Quran is the Sharia faculty of the Minhaj University, Lahore, and it has been training Islamic scholars and faith leaders since 1986. Many of its graduates have been posted around the world providing spiritual and religious services to Muslim societies and minorities.

The MCM welcomes people of all backgrounds to pursue a career in teaching and propagating Islam. The college curriculum is carefully monitored and designed under the guidance of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. It has the vision to fulfil a longstanding need to produce individuals who impart true and authentic Islamic knowledge in line with the needs, requirements and norms of British society so that they become true and effective leaders within their community.

Through the effort of its scholars, publications and educational programmes, the Minhaj University, Lahore, has been an active force for the revival of classical and traditional Islamic learning in the Muslim world. The graduates it has produced have

founder His eminence, Shaykh ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, is a former professor of Law and one of the world’s leading authorities in Islamic scholarship. Author of over five hundred books, he is currently working on writing his exegesis of the Holy Qur’an and a compendium of hadith consisting of thirty volumes, among many other works. His extensive, scholarly research serves as valuable resource material for enhancing classical and traditional learning while providing a modern contextualisation. Scholars and students alike are highly appreciative of his efforts and greatly value his revivalist and forward-looking approach, including his contemporary presentation of the classical Islamic teachings. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has a vision of not merely imparting Islamic knowledge, but to revitalise the classical Islamic teachings, so that the needs of the contemporary era can be met with the intended spirit of the Islamic tradition. Based in London, he has been active for many years at the grass roots in the spiritual and religious education of young Muslims. His main interest lies in tackling radicalisation of Muslims in the West and interfaith relations.

DR RAHEEQ ABBASI - Senior Academic Management Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi has conducted PhD level research in Agent Technology at the Oxford Brookes University, alongside his MSc in High Speed Networking. Dr Abbasi has served on the board of governors at the Minhaj University Lahore (MUL). He was a member of the Board of Advance Studies and Research at the Minhaj University Lahore for 12 years. He remained chair of the Research and Review Committee at the Faride-Millat Research Institute (FMRi). He was also the principal of the the Jamia Islamia Minhaj-ul-Quran.

DR MUHAMMAD RAFIQ HABIB - President British Council of Islamic Guidance Dr Habib has a PhD and a Masters in Islamic Studies & Arabic from the University of Aberdeen, he has also studied in depth Classical Islamic studies from the Minhaj University and Al-Azhar University (Egypt) and has completed teacher training courses in the UK.

DR AZHAR JAVAID - Senior College Lecturer Dr Javaid has been a college lecturer for 13 years and qualified with a PhD in Analytical Chemistry. He has been involved in various research projects which has resulted numerous publications in international academic journals.

YASMIN HUSSAIN - Teacher and Examiner With a BSc Honours degree in Applied and Human Biology as well as a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Secondary Science with a specialism in Biology, Yasmin Hussain is an experienced teacher of Science within an outstanding school. Key responsibilities include the designing of interactive and engaging schemes of work as well as the marking and moderation of course work in line with the exam board mark schemes and regulations.

ABDUL QADIR - Teacher and Examiner Abdul Qadir has over 30 years of experience in both public and private sectors and in delivering and managing a wide variety of Educational and vocational training programmes. As a Trainer, Assessor and Internal Verifier, he delivered various vocational training programmes in Business, IT and Logistics. He has successfully managed a Learn Direct Centre and Qualified Teacher Status Skills Test Centre. In addition Abdul Qadir has worked as a regeneration officer and economic development officer in Sheffield and Rotherham.

Imran Ashfaq - Senior School Teacher and Head of Department Imran Ashfaq is the Head of Department for Physical Education at a secondary school. His roles include developing curriculum resources for delivery. Amongst his many teaching qualifications is the NPQSL. He has also led whole school projects looking at both pastoral and curriculum based projects. He has developed curriculum pathways enabling students to have personalised learning pathways.

Visiting Lecturer at the MCM, Dr Hassan has received a doctorate on his thesis ‘The Constitution of Medina and Modern Constitutional Principles’ (A Comparative Study of American, British & European Constitutional Law) from the Arab League University in Cairo, Egypt.

Mufti Sohail studied at the Jamia Islamia Minhaj-ul-Quran and The Minhaj University Lahore (Pakistan), where under the tutelage of Shaykh-ulIslam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, he received a wealth of classical and traditional Islamic knowledge from learned scholars.

The aims of the Intermediate Diploma in Islamic Sciences: To teach students the fundamentals of Islam alongside the essential Islamic disciplines. To enable students to examine traditional texts and to contextualise it to the needs of the contemporary era. To equip students to study at prestigious institutions around the world, such as al-Azhar University in Egypt, to undertake further studies in advanced Islamic learning.

Dr Habib has a PhD and a Masters in Islamic & Arabic Studies from the University of Aberdeen. He has also studied in depth Classical Islamic studies from the Minhaj University and Al-Azhar University (Egypt) and has completed teacher training courses in the UK.

Senior lecturer in finance at the Rotterdam University, and currently enrolled in a PhD program in management studies at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Alongside his professional education, he studied the traditional Islamic curriculum with local and world renowned scholars, obtaining various Ijazat (teaching licenses) and Asanid (chains of authority). Most prominent amongst these is the Ijaza received from Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.

SHAYKH WAQAS AHMED AMIN Junior Lecturer A graduate with a First-Class Honours in BA Arabic Language and International Relations and an MA in Political Theory and Philosophy, he has pursued the classical Islamic sciences privately in the UK since 2006, and was awarded al-Ijaza al-`Ilmiyya al-Khassa (teaching license) by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in 2015. Currently, he works as an in-house translator and editor for Minhaj-ul-Quran Publications.

SHAYKH ALI AKBAR Lecturer Shaykh Ali Akbar is currently undergoing a PhD at Staffordshire University and has been previously a lecturer at institutions under the Minhaj University Lahore.

Shaykh Adnan Sohail specialized in the study of Prophetic traditions, nomenclature of Prophetic traditions and the Principles of the Sciences of Hadith at the faculty of Islamic Sciences and Theology in Al-Azhar University, Cairo (Egypt)

Course Developer at Minhaj College Manchester, Jawed Iqbal began a serious study of traditional Islamic studies in the UK. His studies led him to Pakistan where he graduated with a double masters in Islamic Studies and Arabic from the Minhaj University Lahore (MUL). He was a research fellow at the Farid-e-Millat Research Institute (FMRi) in Lahore for four years which oversees the works of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. He has continued to work in this field in the last few years.

Students will also have the opportunity to complete an advanced course at AlAzhar University, Egypt.

This course will provide a comprehensive and integrated method of study, incorporating classical Islamic subjects alongside contemporary teaching techniques. It will give guidance to its students in issues facing the British Muslim community and provide essential teacher training to enable its students to become effective teachers and propagators. The aim of the programme is to gear the students to take up the position of serving the British community as homegrown leaders. The IDIIS is also an accepted entry programme to the world-renowned centre of Islamic learning in the Muslim world, the al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. This course will enable its students, who wish to pursue a specialisation, to enrol at the prestigious al-Azhar University to further their studies.

with A-Levels: Students applying for this route must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs, grades A-C. However, students without the required grades can provide references, so that their application can be considered for review.

without A-Levels: For students who have already completed their A-levels or mature students who do not wish to take A-levels, an alternative route can be taken without A-levels. A supporting application will be required, and any previous education will be considered based on experience and merit.

The property is easily accessible by public transport with plenty of car parking arrangement for those who wish to travel by their personal means of transportation. without A-Levels:

£1650/year + £350 registration fee

The registration fee will be required at the time of acceptance and the remaining fee can be paid in 3 equal instalments. The fees do not include any books and additional expenses, and are only for academic tuition. Examinations costs are included within the fees.

accommodation Manchester is a unique and vibrant international city with over 100,000 students from around the world. MCM does not provide in-house accommodation. However, if there is enough demand for accommodation, MCM will organise accommodation for its students to support and facilitate their move to Manchester.
