Lunar New Year Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Mongolian and Tibetan are the 6 communities celebrating the Lunar New Year. Every year, according to the lunar month, celebrations were held throughout cities across the United States. The celebrations typically include firecrackers, red paper lanterns, and lion dances. Stores and vendors ask for lion dance as a sign of good fortune for the whole year. The new year celebration can last for 15 days. The Asian community is family-oriented that the Lunar New Year is a time for families to be together. However, it also happens on the street during the day. Not only the Chinese community but also tourists and the surrounding neighborhoods go there to share the joy of the new year.
