Mini Empire is all about odd stories, fascinating animals and deep woods. Our products are made with a lot of love and a pinch of humor for all ages and all genders.
THE STUDIO Our studio, which functions as both workspace and showroom, is located in the premises of Åsögatan in the heart of Stockholm’s vibrant Södermalm neighbourhood. All the designs and prototypes are carefully crafted here and we work closely with our manufacturers so that we can assure that every step of the production meets our standards. As it is essential to us that our products keep their handcrafted uniqueness and quality, we devote ourselves to every step in the production process: from idea to finished product.
ABOUT MINI EMPIRE Mini Empire is an emerging design brand who has the aim to bring illustrative happiness to every corner of your home. The enchanting patterns and depictions stem from the imaginary world of Jenny von Dรถbeln- head designer and founder. Jenny established the small and independent company in 2010. She consistently functions as the nave of the creative process, with an ever-changing set of coworkers and collaborators surrounding her. Mni Emire frequently attends international tradeshows to meet new retailers and co-workers and the products are represented in over 15 countries worldwide. Occassionally Mini Empire also collaborates with other brands. Some previous collaborations includes Red Cross, The North Face, Save the Children and Bookbinders design.
PRODUCTION & MATERIALS OUR PHILOSOPHY
Mini Empire strives to create sustainable design- whether it is through supporting local craftsmanship and industries in production, or creating timeless aesthetics that outlives seasonal trends. PAPER
All our paper products are printed in Sweden on eco-friendly paper from Arctic Paper with solvent-free inks. WOOD
Our wooden products are manufactured in Poland. by a family-based design and manufacturing company, founded in 1993. The products correspond to all EU and US standards and requirements for toys safety (directive88/378/EWG and 93/68/EWG) in terms of materials, manufacture and labeling. We use only the safest certified non-toxic paints based on natural components, which fulfill EU safety standard(EN71) and US norms. The wood is carefully selected high-quality materials from certified local suppliers, who respect European eco-standards of the wood production. CERAMICS
Our ceramic collection is made from fine bone china, produced in the home of the pottery industry in England- Stoke on Trent. We are really proud of working with this family run company who have been manufacturing beautiful pottery at the same factory since the 1970’s. TEXTILE
Our fabrics are printed with waterbased pigment colors, which is kind to nature. These pigment colors are certified according to the highest Oeko-Tex Standard 100 product Klass 1. This means that the colors are permitted to use for babyclothes and kids sheets. Our totebags are made from organic and fairtrade cotton. Our pouches and cushions are sewn in a small atelier and every item is uniquely handcrafted. Therefor it can also differ a little between the items. LEATHER
We only use vegetable tanned leather.
