AMUSEMENT PARKS

Como Town

This 4-acre outdoor amusement park, adjacent to the Como Park Zoo & Conservatory, is designed for ages 2 to 12 with more than 18 kiddie rides. The Soaring Eagle Zip Ride (pictured above) gives riders a panoramic, bird’s-eye view of the area, including the Como Zoo’s gorilla forest. The park’s newest addition is a jungle-themed, figure-eight-shape Tiger Trax Roller Coaster, custom made in Italy with coaster cars painted to look like the zoo’s Siberian tigers. Nickelodeon Universe at the MOA

Located inside the Mall of America, this destination includes more than 25 rides and activities, featuring popular Nickelodeon characters, plus shops, entertainment stages and dining. One of the last free zoos in the U.S., Como is home to a wide array of animals and plants and is open 365 days a year. Dakota County Parks

Educational programs and camps for kids of all ages are central to this working organic farm on picturesque Whaletail Lake. Gibbs Museum of Pioneer and Dakotah Life

Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway

More than 50 miles of walking trails and paved cycling paths loop around scenic areas of Minneapolis. There are seven districts along the byway, including Downtown Riverfront, Mississippi River, Minnehaha, Chain of Lakes, Theodore Wirth, Victory Memorial and Northeast.
