APPLY FOR ADMISSION

Students who have been admitted to the University may apply for housing.

CONFIRM ENROLLMENT

Students must confirm enrollment before they are allowed to apply for housing.

HOUSING APPLICATION

Using your StarID/password, log in to E-services and select Housing & Dining in the left menu bar.

HOUSING CONTRACT

Housing Contracts are signed within the Housing & Dining Portal.

$250 PREPAYMENT

The student’s prepayment is applied to the first semester room charges.

ROOM TYPES BASIC: These rooms share a community bathroom. Each floor is single gender (except for McElroy G Hall which is co-ed). Air-conditioned study lounges and a kitchen are available on each floor. Most rooms are double rooms, however a small number of singles and triples are available. LOCATION: Crawford C Hall, McElroy G Hall RENOVATED: Renovated rooms share a community bathroom. Each floor is single gender and has an airconditioned study lounge and a kitchen. Most rooms are double rooms, however a small number of singles and triples are available. LOCATION: Crawford A/B/D Halls, McElroy E/F/H Halls, Preska I Hall SEMI-SUITE: Two rooms share a bathroom. Each suite is single gender, while floors are co-ed. Each floor has a study lounge and a kitchen. Most rooms are double semi-suites (2 students on each side of the suite) however some single semi-suites (1 student on each side of the suite) are available. LOCATION: Preska J/K/L Halls, Julia Sears APARTMENT: Three-bedroom apartments each have a living area, full kitchen, and private bathroom. Each apartment is single gender, while floors are co-ed. Each apartment is furnished with attractive furniture and includes free parking and free laundry. LOCATION: Stadium Heights

Shuttle Service to and From Stadium Heights: A number of bus services are available to Stadium Heights residents simply by using their MavCARD to ride for free. Routes pick up every 14 to 30 minutes during weekdays from the bus shelter located at Stadium Heights.

Housing Contract The Housing Contract is a legal, binding document. A copy of the Housing Contract is available on our website (mnsu.edu/reslife). Limitations

Contracts are not transferable.

Contracts are in effect for one academic year (or that portion of the academic year remaining at the time occupancy begins).

Contracts may only be cancelled under specific terms listed in the Housing Contract. Failure to register or withdraw from the University does not constitute cancellation of the Housing Contract.

Bills for the fall semester will be available on E-services in August. Students receiving financial aid will have that aid applied toward their comprehensive semester charges (including housing and meal plan).

Students may choose to stay on campus over Thanksgiving and Spring Break for no additional charge. A separate fee is charged for Winter Break and Summer Housing. The Dining Center is closed during all break periods.

Students who require a housing accommodation due to a medical/health need should contact Accessibility Resources to get started.

Learning Communities Take Classes Together Live on the Same Floor Ease the Transition to College Learning Communities allow you to live with other students who share a similar personal or academic interest. You will be co-enrolled in core courses together, participate in readymade study groups, service opportunities, and social events for Learning Community students. There is no cost to join a Learning Community.

Do first-year students stay in a specific residence community?

Can first-year students bring a car?

Almost all first-year students choose to live on-campus, despite not having a requirement.

Students may live in any community. Yes!

What does it cost to live in campus housing?

Residential Life room and meal plan rates are available on our website (mnsu.edu/reslife/rates).

Do I need to rent a loft? Adjustable twin XL lofts are provided in all double rooms (for no additional cost). Can I bring a refrigerator and microwave? Yes to both! For size requirements see mnsu.edu/reslife/housing/new/bring.html Am I required to have a meal plan? Yes! 23
