GOLF IMPROVEMENT BREAKS GolfKings have been helping to arrange quality Golfing Breaks to all parts of the world for many years. In this brochure we are highlighting some of our approved venues for our all new Golf Improvement Breaks. These breaks are designed to allow you to compete during the off season, and to improve your golf with the help of a PGA Professional. The trips we help arrange vary greatly, depending on the group that is travelling, and the itinerary will be circulated by your PGA Professional to show you what is involved in your chosen trip. Our hand-picked venues all have excellent facilities for tuition and practice, and the courses are of a very high quality. All our breaks will be customised by your PGA Professional to meet your golfing needs. A Golf Improvement Break is the perfect way to hone your game for the future. Play and practice golf in the sun, meet new friends, and combine this with some off season competition. It’s a ‘must do’ experience for all golfers who want to learn how to get better, and it’s definitely for those who want to enjoy their golf more than ever.
Golf Improvement Breaks will include; Competitions – with fellow golfers in different formats; team and individual events will be organised and run by your Professional.
Personal interaction with your PGA Professional – You
will get the chance to play with your Professional, and they will aim to give you a better understanding of how to improve your course management (this is one of the biggest differences between Professionals and club golfers). Good course management can be invaluable, and will have a big impact on your enjoyment of the game and on your ability to score better, on good and bad days. There will be individual and group coaching on all aspects of the game. If your problem is Putting, Chipping, Wedge Play, Irons or Driving, your PGA Professional will give you tips on how to improve on your weaknesses, recommend drills to suit you, and therefore improve your golf.
Equipment Review – If required
your PGA Professional can have a look at and assess your golf equipment to make sure it’s best suited to you and your swing. Using the right equipment can make a tremendous difference to how you play.
Effective Practice and Effective Warm Up -
Most golfers don’t practice properly. Many serious and recreational golfers hit balls, but does it always help? Probably not. Your PGA Professional will help you learn how to make practice time more effective and more constructive. You will learn new drills to help the weaker parts of your game. Most of us don’t have the time or the inclination to hit a lot of balls before we play, but just doing a few simple warm up exercises and by hitting just a few balls before you play, can get your body more than ready for the round ahead. Playing better golf and minimizing the chance of injury are the main goals of pre-round practice. On top of all this you will be spending time with like-minded golfers, sharing stories and experiences, and enjoying some quality “down” time in some of Europe’s most exciting golfing destinations.

VILA SOL RESORT & SPA VILAMOURA, ALGARVE The Resort The 5-star Vila Sol Resort & Spa is in a secluded position, close enough to all the excitement and attractions of Vilamoura, yet far enough away to guarantee a tranquil break. The resort offers various room options including hotel, luxury apartments and villas, some with views over its 27-hole golf course. Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, heated indoor pool and a choice of bars and dining options. The Vila Sol Golf Resort is divided in to three loops of varying difficulty. Prime Loop The opening four holes are regarded as the most difficult start to any course on the Algarve with long narrow fairways and well-guarded greens. 6
Challenge Loop This is better known as the back 9 of Vila Sol and is built on more undulating terrain than the sister courses. The first five holes are straightforward but the last four are slightly tougher with tight fairways requiring accuracy. Prestige Loop This is the newest addition to Vila Sol and is the shortest of the three courses. Accuracy rather than distance is required due to the narrow fairways with water hazards coming in to play on four holes.

Spain continues to be one of the most popular choices for golfers heading to the sun. We are spoilt for choice with the number of golf resorts in Spain along with coastal resorts that have something for everyone whether you are looking for a lively night or a bit of peace and quiet. The Costa del Sol is the most well known and loved area for golf holidays in Spain but the Murcia Region, home to La Manga Golf Resort, and the Costa Blanca have added several new courses in recent years and are firmly on the map as great places to play on your next golf break in Spain.
LA CALA GOLF RESO COSTA DEL SOL
The Resort La Cala Golf Resort is one of the most well-known golf resorts in the Costa del Sol. This idyllic rural retreat is worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the busy coast, yet only 10 minutes from the Mediterranean beaches of Costa del Sol and 20 minutes from Marbella.

Pasha, the first of Antalya Golf Club’s two 18 hole courses to be opened, is relatively short by modern standards, measuring just over 6300 yards. The fairways are generous, but testing doglegs, strategically placed bunkers and undulating greens will require players to think their way around. PGA Sultan is just over 7000 yards, so distance off the tee is needed to avoid the many water hazards that come into play on twelve of the holes. Despite being more suitable to lower handicappers, the PGA Sultan is still a course enjoyed by players of all abilities as there is a good choice of tees. The condition of both courses, and especially their greens, are well renowned throughout the area.

A good touch around the green is also required in order to negotiate the large tiered greens. Due to its hilly terrain, the course is a good test of golf.

CROWNE PLAZA YAS ISLAND, ABU DHABI The Resort This luxurious hotel is the 19th hole for the Yas Links course, which has been sculpted from the beautiful coast next to the hotel.
There is an academy, a nine hole par 3 course and floodlit practice facilities to help visitors and members hone their game.

Yas Links course is a masterpiece designed by Kyle Phillips. It sits on the western shores of Yas Island and eight of its superb holes are bordered by the glistening blue waters of the Gulf. This certainly adds to the challenge but it is by no means the only thing to test the golfer. From the back tees it measures a lengthy 7450 yards but various tee positions mean it is playable for the higher handicapper.
