BRECKENRIDGE Ideal for beginners, Breckenridge’s ski area is divided into five lift and piste-linked sectors – Peak 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 – and there are few nursery slopes in the world to rival the long, wide, gentle run at the foot of Breckenridge’s Peak 9. PARK CITY Park City is one of the best resorts in the USA for intermediates.

Its ski area – located directly above the town – is laced with cruisy blue runs, and there are also plenty of easy blacks, plus tempting, ungroomed gladed tree runs. Intermediates will love the fact that they can travel to neighbouring resorts once they have covered Park City. There are a few long cruising runs in Park City and some lovely blue runs that curve off the ridges. Head over to Deer Valley for a taste of luxury and perfectly groomed corduroy pistes. JACKSON HOLE Jackson Hole is probably one of our favourite ski resorts in the world as it is still a ‘proper’ cowboy town where you really feel as if you are in the Wild West. Jackson Hole is on the list of places to ski and board of many experts and good intermediates because of its reputation for fantastic big mountain skiing. The resort receives a massive amount of powder snow throughout the season which draws people in from far and wide. Jackson Hole celebrated the arrival of ‘Big Red’ in 2008. BANFF Banff is just 15 minutes away from Sunshine Village which receives over 30 feet of snow throughout the year. There are over 3,300 acres of terrain here alone and, with your Tri-area pass, you can access Norquay and Lake Louise to play in 7,748 acres of piste! Beginners will find that there is a good area at the village of Sunshine and some lovely, green runs to progress onto. Norquay also has a good nursery slope area. WHISTLER Together Whistler and Blackcomb mountains form the largest area of slopes with the longest runs in North America! This is brilliant as you don’t even have to get a resort bus to the ski area from your accommodation. Both mountains have a huge range of beginner, intermediate and advanced skiing and boarding. Coast Blackcomb Suites No Whistler property has better ski in/ski out access than the Coast Blackcomb Suites – right on the side of Blackcomb Mountain you pop your skis on in the morning and off you go.
