LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
TAKING US BACK TO THE PERSONAL TOUCH Think back to before cell phones, airline travel, automobile travel and Facetime. Our transactions were face to face. And we built strong relationships with the vendors who worked for us and people with whom we worked. I am by no means suggesting that we do away with the technological advances we’ve created but I do have a mission in my year thus far as President of MAB, and that is to highlight and reinforce the personal touch. You still see emails from our Association and make sure to check our website for regular activities but know that I have yet to miss a board meeting and I try to make my face seen as much as possible as president. There is great value in meeting face-to-face, eye-to-eye. Sometimes, email is a quick substitute for an easy conversation. So let’s do this together, builders, remodelers and associates! Make a commitment to get active in MAB and meet me and the rest of our board of directors!
I look forward to seeing you at the Birdie with the Builders Golf Tournament, the Guns ‘n’ Roses Trap Shoot and the Parade of Homes!
Chris Dahl 2017 MAB President
MEMO FROM THE EO
DON’T MISS THE PARADE OF HOMES! But first, there’s the Guns ‘n’ Roses Trap Shoot. The Birdie with the Builders Golf Tournament has wrapped up and the summer is winding down but MAB is still going strong through the fall! Make sure to sign up for the Guns ‘n’ Roses Trap Shoot on August 29th. We’ve got a night jam-packed with events while you wait to shoot. Spend an evening on the range with the Minot Association of Builders and before you head home, purchase a dozen roses for your someone special for $20. Then on September 16th, the second annual Parade of Homes is coming back to Minot! We anticipate a warm September weekend and even warmer reception as community members are eager to experience the style and function of new construction in Minot and the surrounding areas. We’ve got a great roster of homes this year and are so excited to continue the Parade tradition in our town. Explore homes on September 16th from 10 AM to 4 PM. See new trends, talk with local builders and make the dream of becoming a homeowner, a reality!
We’ve got a few other new events up our sleeve for the rest of the year and will start making announcements soon! The MAB Homefront | 4 | August 2017

As a licensed Realtor since 2008, I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience in the Real Estate Industry and I would love to share my knowledge and experience with you! My previous 20 plus years in customer service, management & training have helped me be successful in this new career that I love! I am a full-time agent, born and raised in the Minot area. I enjoy going to the lake, spending time with friends and family, personal development and watching the many sporting events my kids play.

WHAT’S HAPPENING AT MAB? A WHOLE LOT!
SUCCESSFUL DEVELOPERS FORUM
Members of the building community and city leaders met for two hours on Monday, July 24th to discuss issues facing local builders. Primary topics of concern were strict zoning ordinances that lead to expensive building costs that hinder builders, the lengthy permit process and communication between the City and builders. MAB was well represented well with several MAB board members involved in the discussions. MAB will continue to be included in talks with city leaders as these issues are resolved and keep our members up to date. If any members have input regarding how local ordinances are affecting them or their businesses, please contact Elysha at contact@minotab.com.
