Melissa and Mason’s big day went down on the first day of September, and let me tell you, Mother Nature must’ve been in on the planning because it was a perfect fall day to exchange those magical “I do’s.”
Melissa and her squad spent the morning prepping in the cozy loft at The Backyard, while Mason and his gang were getting all dapper at the Sandman Signature Hotel. The lovebirds had a super sweet first look at President Murray Park, and when the moment came to make it official, they kept it intimate with just a close friend as the officiant and their awesome wedding party.
Afterwards, it was portrait time in the park, capturing those stunning moments before everyone headed back to The Backyard for the main event. Melissa’s dad couldn’t be there in person, but her brother stepped up to walk her down the aisle, and you bet it was a tearjerker for everyone present.
Once the “I do’s” were said and done, it was time for some mingling and refreshments in the yard. The wedding party, on the other hand, took Saskatoon by storm in their party bus - gotta make an entrance, right?
When they returned, the newlyweds kicked things off with their first dance. Then, it was all about good food and heartwarming speeches. Mason had a special moment dancing with his mom, and Melissa paid tribute to her dad with a touching dance with her brother, set to the soulstirring tune “You Should Be Here” by Cole Swindell.
As the night went on, Armed with Harmony cranked up the tunes, and you know how it goes – guests chatting, dancing, and basically having the time of their lives. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and some seriously smooth moves on the dance floor!

How Bruin and Sjalyn Found Each Other and a Ring
It all started with a girls’ “wing night” – a night that would forever change the course of Bruin and Sjalyn’s lives.

Bruin and Sjalyn’s paths crossed thanks to none other than Quinn Baynham, the sister of our charming groom-to-be. It was one of those ordinary nights when the girls decided to go out for wings and cocktails.
As Quinn was getting ready to meet her gal pals, Bruin, with a glint in his eye, cheekily told her, “If any of ‘em are cute, invite ‘em back to my place for drinks.” Little did he know what fate had in store.
There she was, Sjalyn, a ray of sunshine, joining the ladies for a fun night out. Quinn, true to her word, decided to play Cupid that evening. She brought Sjalyn to Bruin’s doorstep, quite literally, where their love story was about to unfold.
Now, let’s fast forward to that beautiful September day. Sjalyn had a romantic picnic planned at the Olson Farm, just south of Medstead, SK. With a heart full of love and an ATV loaded up,
Bruin and Sjalyn ventured through the pasture in search of the perfect brunch spot.
As they enjoyed the breathtaking surroundings, Sjalyn couldn’t help but comment on how perfect everything was. Little did she know, Bruin had a plan to make it even more perfect. He pulled out a ring, and with trembling excitement, he popped the big question. Of course, Sjalyn, overwhelmed with joy, said yes! Tears were shed, and a new chapter of their love story began.
To top it all off, they celebrated with their families that night, savoring homemade pizza and toasting with champagne. Moments like these that remind us how love can bloom in the most unexpected and beautiful ways. Cheers to Bruin and Sjalyn, and to many more adventures and love-filled moments ahead!

In the wide-open embrace of the Canadian prairies, where the fields seem to go on forever, and the sky stretches to meet the earth, our love story had quite the humble beginning. So, there I was, city slicker in Saskatoon, and she was nestled in the quieter town of Battleford. Love, it seems, had other plans for us.
One day, I decided to dive into that app that had been gathering virtual dust on my phone. Amid a sea of profiles, there she was, shining like a star in the night sky. Dayana, that was her name, and her photos were like a burst of sunshine on a rainy day. As I read her profile, I discovered she hailed from a culture entirely different from mine, adding a delicious layer of mystery to our connection. With a mix of nerves and hope, I swiped right, and what do you know, it was a match made in pixel heaven.
Our conversations began with polite hellos and small talk, but it didn’t take long for us to embark on virtual journeys that spanned continents. Dayana’s warmth and intellect were a magnet, and her stories of her homeland ignited my curiosity about the world. After weeks of text exchanges, we decided it was time to meet in person.
Ah, the famous “COVID first date.” We met, and, well, let’s just say it was a bit awkward with social distancing and all. So, we ended up going on a scenic drive around Saskatoon, checking out local landmarks, and capping it off with a whimsical visit to the grocery store. We’d bonded over our shared love of cheese, so we improvised and crafted our own DIY charcuterie boards.
As our love story continued to write itself, it was clear that our diverse backgrounds were like colorful threads weaving our story’s tapestry.
We cherished each other’s traditions, embraced our cultural differences, and found a beautiful fusion of our worlds.
I popped the question in our Battleford backyard, keeping it simple and intimate. A week later, we had a small official ceremony, with grander plans for a celebration a year down the road.
And now, here we are, calling Battleford our home. It’s the place where our love story keeps on evolving, where our differences are bridges, not barriers, and where that trusty old dating app serves as a reminder that love truly knows no boundaries, not even the endless horizons of the Saskatchewan prairies.
Love Strikes at University Jacob and Indy's Journey to Forever
Picture this: the bustling hallways of the university campus, and in the midst of it all, there’s Jacob and Indy. Jacob, in a moment of sheer courage, asked for Indy’s number on their very first day at university. It was near the campus rec and little did they know that this simple encounter would set the stage for a remarkable love story.

As they got to talking, they discovered they had a morning class together, a class that would become the backdrop of their budding relationship. Indy, the early riser, started picking up Jacob three days a week, and they embarked on a journey of getting to know one another, inside and out.
Now, here’s the twist – both of them were passionate wrestlers for their university, but there was a strict “no dating” policy between the men’s and women’s teams. To avoid any complications, they had to keep their growing affection a secret throughout their wrestling careers.
Their first official non-date was at Boston Pizza, a place that would soon hold a special spot in their hearts. Many more non-dates followed – dinners, movies, and unforgettable moments that created the foundation of their love story.
They were planning their second trip to Hawaii, and Jacob had a grand plan up his sleeve. He ordered an engagement ring online and conspired with his sister-in-law to have it delivered to the hotel where the Luau was happening. A surprise proposal in paradise, anyone?
But here’s where the fun begins. Jacob, trying to maintain the element of surprise, had to get creative. When they reached the Royal Lahaina hotel, he told Indy he needed to pick up a package for her. Little did she know, this package was the key to their forever.
The “shops” turned out to be a convenience store, and they had quite the adventure finding that elusive package. Jacob was feeling the heat but decided to make a last-minute plan with the help of the hotel staff.
The moment arrived, and as the band played “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” the spotlight fell on Jacob and Indy. In front of a captivated crowd, Jacob nervously asked, “Do you want to be my best friend forever?” The crowd erupted with joy.
Indy, overwhelmed by the moment, initially blushed and turned away, saying, “stoooop.” But love prevailed, and as they both laughed, she turned back, said yes, and Jacob, in his excitement, almost forgot which finger the ring belonged on.
And so, their love story took a magical turn amidst the palm trees and the sound of the ukulele. From their first encounter at the university to a surprise proposal in Hawaii, Jacob and Indy’s love story is a testament to the power of love that can’t be held back, not even by a strict no-dating rule.
