FROGLUBE (see ad page 7) What causes most malfunctions in firearms? Fouling in precisely the wrong place when the trigger is pulled. The “book” says a firearm should be cleaned after every use, but how many of us actually do that, or even follow basic cleaning instructions on a regular basis? The main sources of fouling are unexpended propellant, excessive gun lube residue, and environmental debris. FrogLube and most professionals advocate that two products are required for complete gun care: degreasing solvents and lubricants. The only job of the degreasing solvent (DS) is fouling removal. A proper DS will deliver an outcome of “clean,” “dry” and “residue-free” for every part or surface, and these conditions must exist before you can apply a lubricant. Fouling management between cleanings is best done by using a non-petroleum, bio-based lubricant which prevents oxidation and build-up, such as FrogLube CLP. FrogLube Solvent and Super Degreaser will prevent malfunctions caused by fouling in the wrong place. For more info, see froglube.com.
BEYER BARRELS (see ad page 7) Our premium-quality aluminum-alloy barrels are fully machined to precise, match-grade tolerances from exceptionally hard 7075 aluminum, which is much stronger than mild steel alloys. This provides all the benefits of a thick barrel and improves the heat distribution for better accuracy. These barrels range from 13 to 18 ounces – less than half of traditional steel barrels weighing up to 60 ounces. A custom Beyer Match Chamber is inserted in all barrels. Barrel shanks are oversized to .001 inch and may require a little sanding to fit the receiver. Our .17-caliber HM2 barrel requires a heavy bolt or bolt handle assembly, and the .750-inch diameter barrel accepts standard AR-15/M16 gas blocks for extra mounting options. A recessed target crown protects the rifling at the muzzle. Our barrels allow for greater versatility for long hikes, a full day at the range, and increased endurance for youth shooting and ease of use. AR-15 barrel notes: Using a dedicated breach collar does away with the .223 adapter and the free bore the bullet travels before it contacts the rifling. Twist: Button-rifled Chromalloy steel liner with precise 1-in-16- or 1-in-9-inch rifling for excellent accuracy. The 1-in-9-inch rifling works well for 60-grain subsonic .22 LR ammo. Finish: We offer a variety of finishes: stainless steel, matte black, OD green and custom colors. Our ceramic finishes are baked on and resist corrosion, scratches, and surface wear. 4

Flutes: In addition to being decorative, flutes lighten the barrel weight, help stiffen the barrel and increase cooling. We offer two kinds of flutes: straight flutes and diamond flutes. These can be painted or unpainted depending on the desired appearance. Threads: Threads allow for the addition of muzzle breaks and silencers. One-half-to-28 threads-per-inch muzzle threads accept a variety of AR-15/M16 flash hiders and muzzle brakes. Threads can also be added to any barrels we offer. Muzzle brakes: Originally, muzzle brakes were created to reduce rifle recoil. In rimfire barrels, they are used to stablize the muzzle and increase target acquisition during rapid fire competition. AR500 steel absorbs bullet impact without damage. Shoot up each of the targets, and then shoot the reset target to drop all the targets at once! The AR500 front deflector is angled downward at 45 degrees to safely direct missed shots toward the ground and to protect the mechanism. The legs are removable for easy transport.
