Twice a year we hit the ground running in the Italian city of Milan for the largest footwear exhibition in the world. We are at the tail end of a trip that sees us explore the likes of Paris, New York and London in search of the best and brightest in new trends and design, and although our days are spent doing business with people from around the world, it’s these three we look forward to hanging with the most. OUR STORY We have been in the business of creating premium leatherwear since 1948, when our founder Shane Anselmi’s grandfather first opened a footwear store in New Zealand. With a family tradition rich in footwear heritage, Shane then went on to open the first Overland store in 1990 after an inspiring trip overseas where he had a vision of the concept.

WE LOVE GIVING BACK and now, Australia under the name Merchant 1948. The passion and love of fashion, footwear and design that brought Shane’s vision to life is still essential to what we do, and felt through every area of the organization.
