The Royal College of Art (RCA) is one of the most prestigious institutions of the British university education landscape. Founded 186 years ago, it recently expanded its Battersea campus with the addition of two new buildings dedicated to innovation: the Rausing Research and Innovation Building and the Studio Building.

Both have been designed to reflect the RCA curriculum transition to include science, technology and engineering. The 15,000 m² of new modular workshops, studios and robotics research facili- ties provide optimal experimental environments for its students. A 350-m² atrium connects the RCA to the street, is big enough to host events and vehicles, and conveys an openness to the outside world that is totally consistent with the work done here in areas that include smart mobility.
