PENCIL & MARKER DRAWINGS
Sketching & Visualization
Left extreme is the ideation stage, for the brief: A living room console for a mid-century modern tropical home (i.e. Geofry Bawa -esque). Of the two selected concepts A and B the rest compile iterations and futher detailed explorations.
ERGONOMIC HANDLE FOR SPECIAL ADULTS
Design Research & Testing
I got to work with Manovikas Special School Ujjain for my Scholarship and System Design Project. Out of my many interactions and workshops, this particular one was to aid in designing the teak wood blocks.
On this page we see the intial two pictures of students with Cerebral Palsy using commercially available wood blocks and sponge stamps. Further pictures show ideation and rapid prototypes made of handles used for testing at the Vocational Center.
ERGONOMIC HANDLE FOR SPECIAL ADULTS
Design Research & Testing
Out of the 12 students I got to work with some had grip impairments, infact 3 students had Cerebral Palsy. Thus from my design testing I realised they would find a bigger globular head and a stamp like shape to balance their fingers most comfortable.
On this page the most comfortable handle is re-iterate to make two final concepts both made in Pine Wood. A/B testing was carried out at the final workshop at Manovikas, both concepts recieved a positive response from all.
MODULAR LIGHTS
Prototyping
The brief was to make lego like Light modules that can be connected to create various shapes and sizes. VIDEO LINK

Many failures were incurred while prototyping this model, but ultimately it was suceessful and the materials and processes were as follows:
The Shell
- HIPS sheet cutting
- Choroform used as adhesive
The Connector
- 3D Printing
The Electricals
- LED stripe lights
- Plain PCBs
- USB 2.0 Cable Type A/B

TAMIL LETTER FORM FURNITURE
Product Design
The idea was to play with the forms of tamil type and use the curves to bring function to a furniture product.
TAMIL LETTER FORM FURNITURE
Product Design
A 1:1 model was made using CNC cut MDF and assembled wood joinery techniques for the frame. For the cylindrical cushion I took a rather rapid approach by encapsulating a bolsters inside a thick foam sheet, in place of metal fabrication.

RTA FURNITURE AND AR ASSEMBLY MANUAL
Product Interaction Design
Designed a flat pack/Ready To Assemble furniture and building an Augmented Reality based manual consumers can used to see assembly in real time through their smart phones.
This was a group project with my batchmate Atharva Gantellu from UX Design, his responsibilites were Technology (Unity) and UX Design (Figma). While was responisble for:
- Consumer Research > Primary & Secondary
- Sketching > Modular and Joinery Designs
- 3D Modelling > Autodesk Fusion 360
- Rendering and 3D Animation > Blender
- Brainstorming Wireframes > Figma
- Teak Wood Blocks
- Acrylic Paint
- Sponges
- Paper Bowls
Playful Block Print Designs
- Waste Cloth
- Waste Newspaper
- Basic Stationary
- Flash card guide
Matching shapes to develop cognitive thinking
Flashcards to act as guides for the teacher/instructor
Basic Compositions for Pattern Making
BLOCKPRINTING FOR THE SPECIALLY ABELED
Product System Design
Designed a system by creating a kit and ergonomic wooden blocks for specially abled young adults at Manovikas Special School, Ujjain’s Vocational Centers to learn Block Printing.
They can choose to monitize the products to bring income to the center to be put back into its well fare. Simultaneously encouraging those with Intellectual challenges to be creative and learn playfully could help subtly develop their cognitive skills.
BLOCKPRINTING FOR THE SPECIALLY ABELED
Product System Design
System Diagram Summarized:
The School
Internal processes and arrangements required to implement and teach a new skill to first the staff and faculty.
The Students
Understanding the level of the students and how these skills can be best taught and placed in their existing curriculum.
The Community Surrounding the School
Lack of awareness and engagement has been a pain point to tackle from the get go. To combat that we want to attract the right consumers, not to just purchase, but also to interact with the school/center to come volunteer, support or even teach a new skill.
Thereby completing the cycle.
HIMALAYA KOFLET
Packaging Typography Re-design
Bottom left is the existing graphics on Himalaya products which is boxy looking and lacks the curvature of the swish in the H of the Himalaya logo. The exisitng design also does not properly communicate what the particular medicine it for clearly.
For this small exercise my brief was to incorporate that fluidity without compromising on the brand recall that the color scheme of Himalaya products have. The content was also re-arranged to highlight the use of the lozenges better. This design can easily be adpted to fit the rest in their range of such products.
