I’m a Jewelry Designer , graduated in Jewelry Design at IED istituto Europeo di Design in Milan. I have always had a passion for art and painting, I love manual skills and create everything. During my last year of high school art has emerged strongly a strong predisposition for the goldsmith, thanks to a course of Goldsmith Chiseler where I did love even more this profession, at the end of my studies I enrolled at the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana where I could learn the basics of goldsmith, in the same year I enrolled at the IED to have a complete vision from the point of view of manual design. I am a determined girl, a lover of her work, always looking for new ideas and passions to cultivate.

03 THE POWER OF FLOWERS
The concept of the flower is the one that best embodies the image of life, with the renewal of the annual re-flowering, it is the emblem of the rebirth of the seasonal cycle, but also of death destined to naturally fade and dry out within a short period of time . My research is based on the observation of simple city flowers, on their meaning and on the use that these flowers can have. I decided to work with epoxy resin, because thanks to it’s transparency I am able to capture and immobilize the delicacy of the flowers, conveying the idea of immortal beauty.

04 THE IMPORTANCE OF THE ISTANCE
With my project I would like to represent the importance of the moment. Life is made of very rare moments of great intensity that unfortunately most people are not able to capture and be truly aware of the real moments, this ending up living only with the memory. The instant then is only a fraction, where everything can change and mutate, however short this moment is, it is possible to capture it and live it, really succeeding in being more aware of the “here and now”. The image of the eye represents the fleetingness of the moment and invites the viewer to reflect on the importance of the moment. My goal is to create a series of images that capture the moment that is unfolding as if it were a TimeLaps.

The 60's are the years of political struggles and the pacifist movement, these years also mark a profound change in the habits and customs of Western society and see young people at the forefront of this process of renewal. It is the decade of hippies and Flower Power with bright and contrasting color combinations, both in patterns, outfit and jewellry.

05 THESIS PROJECT TAKE A BREATH
In this thesis I will talk about Mindfulness, how it has helped me change and how I, through the creation of special jewelry inspired by the fundamental exercises of the MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) protocol, wish to contribute to spread the knowledge of this practice. I will tell my own experience, highlighting how this practice has allowed me to change. At the beginning these were just exercises, something new, relaxing, but slowly each step helped me to get out of the tunnel of anxiety and lack of awareness, teaching me to live in a totally different way. This experience started my desire to create jewelry that could lead people towards this practice, hoping that it can be as beneficial for them as it has been for me. For every jewel there are "instructions" to perform the exercises properly. With the right stone each exercise activates a synergy between the person, the stone, the color and the training, which can enhance the beneficial effect of the whole experience. I really hope that my creations can become an invitation to practice these exercises, to believe in them and to be encouraged to insist on practicing them. Each of the 7 jewels that I have created represents a phase, has a particular shape which can recall the essence of the practice carried out and is made with a particular stone, according to its meaning and its color, to achieve even more harmony between mind and body.

HAT IS MINDFULNESS?
Cultivating the moment and being aware of our surroundings are practices that help us cope against negative thoughts and emotions that cause us stress and anxiety in our everyday lives. With Mindfulness exercises we learn not to be influenced by our past experiences and will not be afraid of future events. We will take advantage of rooting our minds in the present moment and face life's challenges in a clear, assertive and calm manner. In addition, we will develop a fully conscious mindset that frees us from the imprisonment of unhelpful, self-limiting thought patterns and allows us to be fully conscious and present in focusing on positive emotions that will increase our compassion and understanding of ourselves and others

ROTOCOL MBSR
The protocol that we will take as a reference point is called "Mindfulness based stress reduction" and is based on Mindfulness. In order to achieve full awareness you will need to have motivation and have self-discipline to be able to put into practice what you learn, in moments of difficulty. Everyone must find their own motivation and a new sense of meaning in order to ensure commitment and consistency.

MATERIAL To find the true awareness of ourselves, we need to practice, the means that I will use to apply these exercises will be the crystals. Crystals have many uses and can act on our existence and on our psychophysical well-being, each stone has a specific and precise energy in which I have connected each stone to the 8 phases of mindfulness.
PHASES
FIRST PHASE The phase of the breath: as we have already explained at length before placing attention on it is a determining factor in cultivating awareness and attention and is the basis for any kind of path. The rhythm of our breath is connected to our experiences. Our body exchanges both matter and energy with the external environment and does so (also) through the breath. Its rhythm varies according to the activity you are doing (during sleep it decreases, while during a physical activity it increases) and according to the state of mind (emotions and sensations) in which you are (when you are anxious or scared it increases). Pay attention to the air that enters and exits, to which respiratory muscles are activated, to what really occurs during breathing and be ready to catch any nuance of change: all this is a fundamental basis to become protagonists of our action. The first times the breathing will be done for simplicity while lying down, gradually we will bring this diaphragmatic breathing able to relax the abdominals in the daily routine. CRISTAL USED Rock Crystals has always been considered one of the magical minerals par excellence. Gifted with hypnotic and divinatory virtues, when it takes on certain forms (the famous crystal ball) it induces the person staring at it into a trance, thus allowing travel between past, present and future. SECOND PHASE Body scan as an indispensable step to really get in touch with your body, perceive all the signals it sends us, avoiding to respond automatically without realizing it. To explore our body it is necessary to perform a kind of scan, paying attention to every single part. During this practice you may feel some pain and at that point it is important to try to imagine to let the breath in and out through the painful part. After you have finished exploring the entire body, the person should feel lighter, more relaxed (muscles are released and therefore tension is decreased). Changing the way you see your body over time will also change the way you experience your relationship with it. It is also an excellent technique to bring the mind that is distracted by other thoughts and emotions back to the attention of the present moment, to this purposeless analysis of the sensations we feel in our body. CRYSTAL USED Agate stimulates the balance between Yin and Yang. It sharpens concentration, analytical skills and precision; it gives confidence, strengthens logical thinking and promotes introspection, stability and realism. It stimulates the person to find the answers to their questions within themselves and brings clarity and lucidity. It is the right stone to focus on situations and to elaborate pragmatic solutions. It brings a sense of protection and security. It gives relaxation and greater ability to manage external influences. Favors harmony with oneself and in relationships with others. Stimulates vital energy, passion, sensuality and the instinct of preservation. Helps the shy and fearful to strengthen their courage.

THIRD PHASE Yoga Meditation. With this practice, movements are carried out to contract, but above all to stretch the muscles and the various joints. Each movement ends in a precise position that must be maintained for a few seconds (the time necessary to be able to relax in that position). It is important that with each movement and each position you pay attention to the sensations evoked. Those who practice yoga claim to feel more relaxed, to have more strength and to be more flexible. In this step the motor involvement of the body really begins, first in a soft way, then more and more challenging. Yoga is done without forcing, it should not cause pain; in fact it is essential that you respect and do not judge your body, but simply accept it for what it is. The stretching of the muscles and the balance that is sought in the positions, allow the person to get closer to its limits. It's important to experience our limits because in the long run it could create a "distorted" image of the body, a body that can not do many things and this thought does not allow us to investigate our real possibilities of movement and thus leads us to lose some functional capacities. There are various movements and positions to achieve, each time you perform new ones, you reach a new internal perspective and a new orientation at the physical level. Between each position there is always a resting phase. Breathing in this phase is also of vital importance: whenever during the movement the abdomen contracts, it is important to exhale; while when the movement causes an expansion of the abdomen it is good to inhale. In this way the breath is more effective because it is physiological. CRYSTAL USED Malachite stimulates the awareness of one's own needs and desires and pushes the individual to realize them, to live their emotions without remaining prisoner of them, to develop the decision to free themselves from ancient pains and repressed traumas. It increases the love for beauty and the thirst for knowledge. It makes life intense and adventurous. Improves expression and faculty of understanding, reduces fear and removes selfishness by helping to connect with others on an empathic level. It develops the capacity of observation, critical spirit and liveliness of thought: the subject thus learns to deal more satisfactorily with daily reality.

FOURTH PHASE Seated Meditation. The task in this part of the treatment is to sit and focus on the breath. One can sit in a chair, on the floor, or on top of a cushion. Whenever the focus is on anything other than the breath, it is essential to shift the attention to it, observe the "distraction" (which are often our thoughts, but can also be bodily sensations) and analyze it with "kindness" to understand what it is causing in the person. Afterwards, you let go, returning your attention to the breath. So it is not a matter of repressing thoughts, but of welcoming them without judging them by returning to the awareness of the breath. During this type of meditation it often happens that uncomfortable physical sensations arise (such as the classic tingling of certain parts of the body). Normally you would change position almost automatically, but in this case, you must try to bring attention to the area where the unpleasant sensation occurs, accepting it without judging. In this way we learn to relate to the unpleasant sensations of the body and we learn to overcome the automatism that would make us change position. Moreover, if you pay attention and accept the physical discomfort and/or pain, you can relax by decreasing the pain and remaining calm in front of it. The calmness developed in meditation will then be useful in facing the stressful situations of everyday life (Kabat-Zinn, 1993). From the breath then we will detach ourselves, to go to capture sounds, body sensations, emotions and thoughts. In the course of the practice, participants should learn to: accept whatever manifests as it is; breathe correctly under any circumstances; become adept at coping with experiences that might become difficult: quite a test to overcome. CRYSTAL USED Amethyst offers us inner peace, serenity, balance and harmony, eliminates anxieties, awakens patience and removes self-centeredness. It dissolves fear and helps to face situations with more awareness. Ideal for overcoming moments of sadness and episodes of mild depression, especially related to loss or damage suffered. FIFTH PHASE Standing Meditation. After learning to feel more and more in a relatively comfortable position, the challenge is to stand upright and explore what is happening in us, our tensions, the support on the floor of our feet, the weight of our body, the balance that allows us to stand, our column. A careful and precise analysis of everything that surrounds us, emphasizing the importance of the presence of everything we experience. SIXTH PHASE Walking Meditation. It is "simply" about bringing awareness during everyday life and more precisely during the walk. To focus only on the path, while walking is very difficult. In fact it often happens to think about something else without enjoying the walk (Kabat-Zinn, 1993). So the practice is to pay attention to your steps, the weight of the body that moves from one foot to another, etc.., also integrating the attention on the breath and everything that surrounds us while walking, always without being distracted from our focus that is the feeling of presence, in the here and now. It is necessary to focus on awareness of the physical sensations of walking, both positive and negative, avoiding that the mind wanders to other thoughts. CRYSTAL USED Jade comes from the Spanish pedra de ijada, meaning "stone of the hips," given its traditional beneficial power on the loins and kidneys, and dates back to the time of the Spanish conquest of Central America, where this stone was highly valued and finely worked. SEVENTH PHASE Loving Kindness Meditation. This is a practice that teaches you to intentionally cultivate feelings of kindness and compassion towards everything you pay attention to. Starting with oneself and extending these feelings to everyone. It's useless to say "love the other person" if you haven't learned how to do it first, starting with yourself. And to learn it, the easiest way is to give thanks for everything we can see, feel and think, for a full awareness that helps us to really and fully appreciate life. The Power of Kindness. An emotion, or rather a feeling that can not only give us inner peace, but can also inspire change in others and in the world in which we live, so as to give them the strength to believe in their abilities and potential, to transform together and in a positive way the reality that surrounds us. CRYSTAL USED Rose quartz is associated with everything related to the heart, on a physical and emotional level: it relieves heart disease, regulates the circulatory system, and lowers high blood pressure. Rose quartz fights stress, depression, insomnia, and physical and mental fatigue.
