Join the Misawa Air Base Language Exchange (MABLE) Club to teach English to and learn Japanese from JASDF members through casual socializing.

Japanese Communication 101

Mondays | Jan. 23 & 30 | 11:30 a.m.

Join the class to learn basic Japanese phrases and culture.

Japanese Cooking Class

Tuesday, Jan. 24 | 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 | 5 p.m.

Learn how to make the Japanese traditional dish, ramen! Children ages 6 & up are required to sign up.

Please note: Childcare is not available, however, children under parents' supervision are welcome to attend. Please be courteous and cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend.

Remote Tour Brief

Monday, Jan. 2 | 10–11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9 | 10–11 a.m. | 1–2 p.m. | 2:30–3:30 p.m.

Required for military members, with dependents, who are projected to PCS to a remote location where dependents will not join the military member. Brief must be completed no earlier than 60 days from scheduled departure.

Pre-separation Briefing

Wednesday, Jan. 4 | 9–11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18 | 1–3:30 p.m.

This is a required brief for all military personnel retiring/separating in NLT 365 days. Information discussed will include entitlements/ benefi ts that members may be eligible for when transitioning to civilian life. Spouses/signifi cant others are welcome and encouraged to attend on a space-available basis.

Reintegration Workshop

Fridays | Jan. 6, 20 & 27 | 9–11 a.m.

Required within seven days of return to home station for deployed personnel, and prior to beginning R&R. Spouses are highly recommended to attend. Uniform not required.

Values Based Goals for Transitioning Service members

Wednesday, Jan. 11 | 9–10:30 a.m.

Focuses of this presentation include establishing goals based on values, addressing struggles involved in transitioning from military to civilian life, stress management techniques and tips to help attain a smoother transition. VIA survey will be emailed prior to the workshop.

Vocational Track: Career and Credential Exploration

Thursday, Jan. 19–Friday, Jan. 20 | 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

This course offers an opportunity to complete personalized career development assessments of occupational interests and aptitudes. Participants will then be guided through a variety of career considerations, including labor market projections, education, apprenticeships, certifi cations and licensure requirements.
