At Mission Health, we are not only committed to lifelong learning, but to providing opportunities to nurture and develop the talents of our staff. As patient needs and care environments grow increasingly complex, ongoing nursing education is especially critical to hospital operations and providing superior patient care. And just as we rely on our nurses for compassionate care and attention, they know they can turn to Mission Health to further their career and technical skills.
The Mission Health Friends of Nursing Fund was created to benefit the educational needs of nurses throughout the Mission Health system. Specifically, the fund supports:
Nursing practices are rapidly evolving, requiring continuous education and certification in leadership, system improvement, research, and evidence-based practice, as well as competency in specialized practice fields. It’s important our nurses learn the latest skills and technological advancements to stay ahead of the curve. Furthermore, nursing education not only enriches our nursing staff, but leads to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Professional development, including specialty conferences, education and travel, allowing nurses to share and learn from innovative, evidence-based research and presentations • Board Written Certifications (review courses) • Nursing Leadership Academies for nurse directors, nurse managers, and nursing unit supervisors/charge nurses • Career Progression Specialty Experiences, such as Senior Nursing Student Practicums and Special New Hire Group Cohorts By providing nursing programs such as these, Mission not only trains, but can retain and recruit the best and brightest in the nursing field. A gift to the Friends of Nursing fund provides unique educational and advancement opportunities for the nursing staff at Mission.
