Loch Leven Castle As Mary Queen of Scots’ famous island prison, Loch Leven Castle holds enormous historical significance to the people of Scotland. Situated on the middle of an island in the loch itself, you will follow in Mary’s steps, with a short boat ride to the turret where she awaited her fate.
