WELCOME TO THE Y

ENVISIONING A HEALTHIER MISSOULA Providence Health & Services Western Montana is proud to partner with the Missoula Family Y. Both Providence and the Y have a long history in Missoula as serving people of all ages in health and well-being. Like the Y, Providence started with humble beginnings, but both have grown to serve our community. In 1873, the Sisters of Providence arrived in Missoula with $500 and a mission to serve those in need, especially the poor and vulnerable. They founded Providence St. Patrick Hospital and, more than 144 years later, we are still devoted to that calling. Providence St. Patrick Hospital is the oldest operating hospital in the Providence Health & Services system and the largest medical center in Western Montana. Our staff includes 2,000 employees, with over 200 physicians and related clinical providers. St. Pat’s offers a nationally acclaimed heart program, a full spectrum of woman’s and children’s services, neurology and neurosurgical services, cancer services and mental health services. The hospital operates the only Level II Trauma Center in the region, and has accredited chest pain and stroke programs. Our primary service area includes about 200,000 people in Western Montana. Because of the specialty care we provide, our referral area includes the surrounding 17 counties. Over 50% of our patients come from outside Missoula County and some 400,000 others in contiguous areas. Providence Western Montana includes St. Pat’s, Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson, physicians, clinics, and other community services across Western Montana. In 2015, the Western Montana Region provided almost $36.2 million in community benefit through the provision of care to the poor, contribution to community organizations, and clinical and social services. Providence Health & Services Western Montana and the Missoula Y are excited to partner together to build a healthier Missoula!
