MISSOURI WESTERN

EXPERIENCES Research Projects Your possibilities for research let you work beside your professors to ask questions and discover results you didn’t anticipate.

Produced a Super Bowl commercial Visit missouriwestern.edu/possibilities to read Blair’s story

Each semester, students have the opportunity to present their original research at the Multidisciplinary Research Day and share the results of their research with a vast audience. It also provides a chance to explore research in a variety of disciplines. You can choose to participate in research over the fall, spring or summer semesters. During the summer, students can take advantage of the Program of Research, Teaching and Applied-Learning, which is our unique applied learning program.

Our students: • Worked with the Centers for Disease Control on a newly discovered virus. • Received a $1 million grant for undergraduate synthetic biology research.

• Created and produced a local commercial that was aired during the Super Bowl. • Created strategic business plans, and were awarded franchises. • Presented research for the National Science Foundation.

• Presented research at the National American Chemical Society Conference. • Published undergraduate research.

MISSOURI WESTERN

EXPERIENCES Study Abroad Your possibilities go beyond St. Joseph. Turn your education into an adventure! EXPERIENCES Leadership Opportunities No matter what your interests, Missouri Western has a leadership possibility for you. Our students graduate with the desire and ability to work within diverse communities of people. At Missouri Western, students understand that leadership isn’t a class or a one-time event.

Student leader by sophomore year Visit missouriwestern.edu/possibilities to read Daniel’s story

How do I get started? Get involved. During your first week of classes, come to the Western Warm-Up festival at the Griffon Plaza. This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the student organizations on campus. We want you to find organizations that interest you. When you join a club or organization you are interested in, a passion develops and a leader is born.

for Luck

It is said that those who ask for the mighty Griffon’s protection will be watched over on their quest for education. Prospective students ask the Griffon for his protection by rubbing his head as they depart on a campus tour. At commencement, students leave the University as they came in; with one last request for protection and luck on their next quest.

Fight Tree Song Victory

After every home football victory, teammates, coaches, students and fans gather at the Victory Tree to hear a post-game speech from the coach, followed by the Fight Song.

The fight song is played by the band and sung before every game.
