The church dhâ tshârtsh a igreja The churches dhâ tshârtshiz as igrejas

Some people were heal. sãmm pip-l uér hil

Algumas pessoas foram curadas.

Please bring me some Christians pliz brin mi sâmm kris-tshânis Traga-me cristãos por favor

Os adjetivos normalmente colocam-se antes do substantivo.

A big brown bird. A big bráun bârd Um grande passarinho marrom.

2.5 COMPARATIVO E SUPERLATIVO

2.6 O PRONOME

Singular

Sujeito

Possessivo

Complemento 1 2

1ª pessoa I ai me mi my mai mine mainn

2ª pessoa you iú you iú your iôr yours iúrs

3ª pessoa (m) he hi him him his his his his

(f) she shi her her her her hers hâs (n) it it it it its its -

Plural -

1ª pessoa we uí us âs our áur ours áurs

2ª pessoa you iú you iú your iúr yours iúr

3ª pessoa they dhêi them dhêm their dhêir theirs dhêirs

A única forma , you, significa “tu” ou “ vós, você, vocês”.

Give it to me. ghiv it tu mi Me dá isto. He came with us. hi kâmm uídh âs Ele veio conosco.

Where is my key? uéris mai ki Onde está a minha chave? That’s not mine. dhâts not mainn Não é minha.

2.7 VERBOS AUXILIARES

a. to be (ser)

Afirmativa Contração Negativa Contrações

I am ai ann I’m I’m not aim not you are iú ár you’re iúri you’re not iú-ri not you aren’t iúárent he is hi is he’s his he’s not his not he isn’t hi árent she is shi is she’s shis she’s not shis not she isn’t shi isânt it is it is it’s its it’s not its not it isn’t it isânt we are uí ár we’re ueri we’re not ueri not we aren’t uíárent they are dhêi ár they’re tdhêiri they’re not dhêiri not they aren’t dhêi aren’t

Macson
6
Pontes www.macsonpontes.blogspot.com

Interrogação: Am I? – Is he? etc...

Negação: There isn’t – There aren’t

Interrogação: Is there? – Are there?

b. to have (ter)

Contração Contração

I have I’ve ai - vi it has it’s you have you’ve iú - vi we have ui havi we’ve ui-vi he/she has he’s / she’s they have dhâi havi they’ve dhâi - vi

Negação: I have not (haven’t)

Interrogação: Have you? – Has he?

c. to do (fazer)

I do, you do ai du, iú du eu faço, você faz he, she, it does hi, shi, it duss ele, ela, isto faz we do, they do ué du, dhêi du nós fazemos, eles fazem

Negação: I do not (I don’t) – He does not (doesn’t)

Interrogação: Do you? – Does he?

Os auxiliares obedecem sempre ao mesmo modelo:

1. a forma negativa obtém-se acrescentando not;

2. as perguntas fazem-se por inversão do sujeito.

2.8 OUTROS VERBOS

(to) speak spik (to) come Kâmm (to) go gôu falar vir ir I speak come go You speak come go

He / she / it speaks comes goes we speak come go they speak come go

Macson Pontes
7
www.macsonpontes.blogspot.com

Negação

Faz-se com o auxiliar DO/DOES + NOT + INFINITIVO.

We do not (don’t) like this hotel. uí du not (dânt) laik dhis hótel Não gostamos deste hotel.

Do you like her? du iú láik her Gosta dela?

What are you doing? uóts âriú duing Que está fazendo? I’m writing a letter. aim raí-tinn a lé-târ Estou escrevendo uma carta.

Imperativo

Please bring me some water. pliz bring mi sâmm uó-târ Traga-me água, por favor Don’t be late. dânt bi leit Não chegue tarde.

good – well gud - uél bom - bem fast – fast fést - fést rápido - rapidamente

Who is Jesus of Nazareth to you?

Your life on this earth and for all of eternity is affected by your answer to this question.

Who is Jesus?

Who, in your opinion, is...

 The most outstanding personality of all time?

 The greatest leader?

 The greatest teacher?

 Who has done the most good for mankind?

 Who lived the holiest life anyone has ever lived?

Visit any part of the world today. Talk to people of any religion. No matter how committed they are to their particular religion, if they know anything about history, they will have to admit that there has never been a man like Jesus of Nazareth. He is the most unique personality of all time.

Jesus changed the direction of history. Even the date on your morning newspaper testifies to the fact that Jesus of Nazareth lived on earth nearly 2,000 years ago. B.C. means "before Christ"; A.D. Anno Domini, "the year of our Lord".

HIS COMING FORETOLD

Hundreds of years before Jesus' birth, Scripture records the words of the prophets of Israel predicting His coming. The Old Testament, written by many people over a period of 1,500 years, contains more than 300 prophecies describing His coming. All of these details came true, including his miraculous birth, His sinless life, His many miracles, His death and His resurrection.

The life Jesus led, the miracles He did, the words He spoke, His death on the cross, His resurrection, His ascent to heaven - all point to the fact that He was not merely man, but more

Macson Pontes
16
www.macsonpontes.blogspot.com

than man. Jesus claimed, "I and the Father are One" (John 10:30), "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" (John 14:9), and "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6).

was the Son of God. Later, Lew Wallace wrote the book Ben Hur, one of the greatest English novels ever written concerning the time of Christ.

Similarly, the late C.S. Lewis, professor at Oxford University in England, was an agnostic who denied the deity of Christ for years. But he, too, in intellectual honesty, submitted to Jesus as his God and Savior after studying the overwhelming evidence for His deity.

LORD, LIAR, OR LUNATIC?

In his famous book Mere Christianity, Lewis makes this statement, "A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with a man who says he is a poached egg - or he would be the devil of hell. You must take your choice. Either this was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us."

Who is Jesus of Nazareth to you? Your life on this earth and for all of eternity is affected by your answer to this question.

All other religions were founded by human beings and are based on man-made philosophies, rules and norms for behavior. Take the founders of these religions out of both their disciplines and practices of worship and little would change. But take Jesus Christ out of Christianity, and there would be nothing left. Biblical Christianity is not just a philosophy of life, nor an ethical standard or obedience to religious ritual. True Christianity is based on a vital, personal relationship with a risen, living Savior and Lord.

A RISEN FOUNDER

Jesus of Nazareth was crucified on a cross, buried in a borrowed grave, and three days later was raised from the dead; Christianity is unique in this regard. Any argument for the validity of Christianity depends on the proof of the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth.

Throughout the centuries, most great scholars who have considered the proofs of the resurrection have believed, and still believe, that Jesus is alive. After examining the evidence for the resurrection given by the Gospel writers, the late Simon Greenleaf, an authority on legal issues at Harvard Law School, concluded; "It was therefore impossible that they could have persisted in affirming the truths they have narrated, had not Jesus actually risen from the dead, and had they not known this fact as certainly as they knew any other fact."

John Singleton Copley, recognized as one of the greatest legal minds in British history, commented: "I know pretty well what evidence is; and I tell you, such evidence as that for the resurrection has never broken down yet."

REASONS FOR BELIEF

The resurrection is central to the faith of a Christian. There are several reasons why those who study the resurrection believe it is true:

FORETOLD: First, Jesus Himself foretold His death and resurrection and His death and resurrection came about exactly as He had predicted ( Luke 18:31-33)

THE EMPTY GRAVE: Second, the resurrection is the only plausible explanation for His empty grave. A careful reading of the biblical story shows that the grave where they laid the body of Jesus was closely guarded by Roman soldiers and sealed with an enormous boulder. If, as some have claimed, Jesus was not dead, but only weakened, the guards and the stone would have stopped his escape - or any rescue attempt by His followers. Jesus' enemies would never have taken the body since His body missing from the grave would only serve to encourage belief in His resurrection.

PERSONAL ENCOUNTERS: Third, the resurrection is the only explanation for the appearances of Jesus Christ to His disciples. After His resurrection, Jesus appeared at least ten times to those who had known Him and to as many as 500 people at one time. The Lord proved that these appearances were not hallucinations: He ate and talked with them and they touched Him. ( 1 John 1:1)

BIRTH OF THE CHURCH: Fourth, the resurrection is the only reasonable explanation for the

Macson Pontes
17
www.macsonpontes.blogspot.com

beginning of the Christian church. The Christian church is by far the largest institution that exists or has ever existed in the history of the world. More than half of the first sermon ever preached had to do with the resurrection (Acts 2:14-36). Obviously, the early church knew that this was the basis of its message. The enemies of Jesus and His followers could have stopped them at any time by simply producing Jesus' body.

TRANSFORMED LIVES: Fifth, the resurrection is the only logical explanation for the transformed lives of the disciples. They deserted Him before His resurrection; after His death they were discouraged and fearful. They did not expect Jesus to rise from the dead (Luke 24:1-11).

Yet after His resurrection and their experience at Pentecost, these same discouraged, disappointed men and women were transformed by the mighty power of the risen Christ. In His name, they turned the world upside down. Many lost their lives for their faith; others were terribly persecuted. Their courageous behavior does not make sense apart from their conviction that Jesus Christ was truly raised from the dead - a fact worth dying for.

In 40 years of working with the intellectuals of the university world, I have yet to meet a person who has honestly considered the overwhelming evidence proving the Deity and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth who does not admit that He is the Son of God, the promised Messiah. While some do not believe, they are honest in confessing, "I have not taken the time to read the Bible or to consider the historical facts about Jesus."

A LIVING LORD: Because of Jesus' resurrection, His true followers do not merely observe the ethical code of a dead founder, but rather have a vital, personal relationship with the living Lord. Jesus Christ lives today and faithfully blesses and enriches the lives of all those who trust and obey Him. Throughout the centuries, multitudes have acknowledged the worthiness of Jesus Christ, including many who have greatly influenced the world.

French physicist and philosopher Blaise Pascal spoke of man's need for Jesus when he said, "There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every man, which only God can fill through His Son Jesus Christ."

Would you like to know Jesus Christ personally as your living Savior? As bold as it may sound, you can! Jesus is so eager to establish a personal, loving relationship with you that He has already made all the necessary arrangements.

6.2 TEXTO 2:

THE 4 SPIRITUAL LAWS

Just as there are physical laws that govern the physical universe, so are there spiritual laws which govern your relationship with God.

1. God LOVES you and offers a wonderful PLAN for your life. (References contained on this page are from the Bible and should be read in context wherever possible.)

God's Love

"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 NIV).

God's Plan

[Christ speaking] "I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly" [that it might be full and meaningful] (John 10:10).

Macson Pontes
18
www.macsonpontes.blogspot.com

Why is it that most people are not experiencing the abundant life? Because...

2. Man is SINFUL and SEPARATED from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God's love and plan for his life.

Man Is Sinful

"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

Man was created to have fellowship with God; but, because of his stubborn self-will, he chose to go his own independent way, and fellowship with God was broken. This self-will, characterized by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is evidence of what the Bible calls sin.

Man Is Separated

"The wages of sin is death" [spiritual separation from God] (Romans 6:23).

This diagram illustrates that God is holy and man is sinful. A great gulf separates the two. The arrows illustrate that a man is continually trying to reach God and the abundant life through his own efforts, such as a good life, philosophy, or religion - but he inevitably fails.

The third law explains the only way to bridge this gulf...

3. Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision for man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life.

He Died in Our Place

"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

He Rose From the Dead

"Christ died for our sins...He was buried...He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures...He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred..." (1 Corinthians 15:3-6).

Macson Pontes www.macsonpontes.blogspot.com 19

He Is the Only Way to God

"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me'" (John 14:6).

This diagram illustrates that God has bridged the gulf which separates us from Him by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins.

It is not enough just to know these three laws...

4. We must individually RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.

We Must Receive Christ

"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name" (John 1:12).

We Receive Christ Through Faith

"By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9).

When We Receive Christ, We Experience a New Birth

(Read John 3:1-8)

We Receive Christ by Personal Invitation

[Christ speaking] "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him" (Revelation 3:20).

Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive our sins and to make us what He wants us to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for your sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. You receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of the will.

Macson Pontes www.macsonpontes.blogspot.com 20

These two circles represent two kinds of lives:

Which circle best describes your life?

Which circle would you like to have represent your life?

The following explains how you can receive Christ:

You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer:

(Prayer is talking to God)

God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be."

Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If it does, I invite you to pray this prayer right now and Christ will come into your life, as He promised.

Did you pray this prayer?

Psalms 23 Listening CD Faixa 1

Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.

He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over.

Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever.

Psalms 91 Listening CD Faixa 2

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of Yahweh, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust."

For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you.

You will only look with your eyes, and see the recompense of the wicked.

Mattew 6:9-13

Pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.

Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.

Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.

Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.

For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.

They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot.

"Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.

Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.’

Mark 16:15-20

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made.

John 3;14-21

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.

He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.

They went out, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.

This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.

For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed.

But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God."

John 15;12-17

"This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.

No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn’t know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you.

You didn’t choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

"I command these things to you, that you may love one another.

Romans 8:28-39 Listening CD Faixa 8

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified.

What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?

Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies.

Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Even as it is written, "For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter."

No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 10:9-17

For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed."

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him.

For, "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Ephesians 6:11-18

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.

Revelation 3:7-13

"To the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write: "He who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says these things:

"I know your works (behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut), that you have a little power, and kept my word, and didn’t deny my name.

Behold, I give of the synagogue of Satan, of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but lie. Behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.

peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!"

But they didn’t all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"

So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace; above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
