FAMILY FUN Opportunity is Knocking!
East Jordan Historical Society
Founded in 1976, East Jordan’s Portside Art and Historical Society was the first historical museum established in Charlevoix County.
There are currently two locations where you can view historical displays and artifacts. Easiest to access is the revolving exhibits in the heart of East Jordan in City Hall at 201 Main Street. This downtown exhibit is getting a facelift as the museum curators catalog and organize the vast exhibits. The museum is open during regular City Hall hours and during East Jordan’s many summer events. Stop by to see the exhibits, or purchase our recently re-published “East Jordan Remembers: A Collection of Stories About East Jordan’s Past.” Also available at the Chamber Office or Busy Bridge on Main Street. Admission price is donation only.
Elm Pointe houses the majority of East Jordan Historical Society’s artifacts, as well as featuring the Portside Arts Fair during the first week-end of August. In 2020, the art fair is August 1-2. Elm Pointe is located at 01656 S. M-66 Highway, about 1 1/2 miles north of town on Lake Charlevoix. The museum will be open for the Art Fair and books will be available then.
