MIDWEST INDUSTRIAL TOOL GRINDING, INC. Midwest Industrial Tool Grinding, Inc. (MITGI) is headquartered in Hutchinson, Minnesota. MITGI was founded in 1993 by Jim Schaufler as a custom manufacturing and re-grinding company for cutting tools. Over the past two decades, the company has grown and expanded, but the focus has remained the same - quality and precision. Our state-of-the-art facility has a diverse group of CNC cutter grinders that allow us to build both specialty and common cutting tools with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability. Our goal is to provide high quality specialty tools that meet the specific needs of each customer.

By manufacturing in smaller lots, we’re able to keep a sharp eye on quality and guarantee repeatability through a single lot. Smaller lot sizes also mean that you’re able to keep each order size lower, ordering thread mills as you need them instead of stocking inhouse.
Short lead time makes planning easier.
Within two weeks of the time the P.O. is received (including those orders that utilize AlTiN coating), we’re ready to ship. Our manufacturing plant is set up for flexibility and can produce Standard or Customized orders quickly and efficiently.
Detailed order information means re-orders are a breeze.
When it comes to customer orders, we are diligent about the details. Program notes, in-house tool prints, routers, and inspection sheets give us the ability to track each job completely and to the source. Closely tracking each customer order means we’re ready to manufacture the tool to the exact same specifications when you’re ready to re-order.
Approval Based Sample Program
No one makes better tools than MITGI, and we’re so confident that we encourage you to give them a try on approval. Our Approval Based Sample Program allows you to order a stock tool and give it a try before placing the full order. This ensures that the thread mill will work as expected, and allows you to put it to use.
