MITIE’S volunteering month

SEPTEMBER

CONGRATULATIONS

CONGRATULATIONS to all the MITIE volunteers who made September’s month of volunteering a great success. Employee volunteering happens throughout the year, but after the success of last year’s campaign, we nominated September again as MITIE’s volunteering month to encourage even more salaried employees to volunteer; especially if they’d never volunteered before! Up and down the country, across all different communities, MITIE’s people succeeded in completing 55 projects last month. From clearing warehouses and painting playgrounds to weeding, landscaping and painting – MITIE people weren’t afraid to get their hands dirty. At MITIE, we’re proud to support our communities all year round; demonstrating the importance of being a responsible company. Volunteering not only adds value for our communities and clients but provides a great opportunity for our people to develop their teamwork, negotiation, decision making, problem solving, organisation and communication skills. Throughout September MITIE people did just that and notched up an impressive 251 volunteering days! That means we’re now well on our way to achieving this year’s target of 1000 volunteering days. Take a look at the pictures to see what great work we’ve achieved. And don’t forget, if you were involved in any kind of volunteering campaign last month then you need to complete a community investment form and return it to Stephen Barthorpe (Stephen.barthorpe@mitie.com) so your volunteered hours can be added to MITIE’s overall calculation. Volunteering doesn’t just happen during September so please keep supporting your local community and keep us updated on everything you do via volunteering@mitie.com Thanks for your support.
