Quality cabinetry Nouveau kitchens are strongly constructed. All cabinets are built from white gloss Melamine bonded onto a substrate of 16mm high moisture-resistant particle board, which makes them especially durable. Our Superfine Particleboard MR is independently certified by Environmental Choice New Zealand, and all wood fibre used is sourced from sustainably managed New Zealand forests. Soft close hinges and fully integrated soft close drawer hardware are provided as standard with our cabinets (with the exclusion of corner units).

Choice Each kitchen starts with your choice of cabinetry – these are the bones of your kitchen, the structural base from which your kitchen starts to take shape. These are modular so there are endless options for laying out your kitchen. We also offer a wide range of door and drawer fronts in the latest styles, materials and colours. Combine these with your choice of handles, benchtops, splashbacks and appliances and you have the makings of a functional and stylish kitchen.

15 year warranty We also know peace of mind is important, so every Nouveau kitchen has another key point of difference – it comes with a 15 year warranty on workmanship, hardware and material defects.

In-store kitchen designers The secret to a great kitchen lies in the planning, but if you don’t know where to begin, our in-store kitchen designers are there to advise you on every aspect of your project. They can even put your chosen design into a 3D image so that you get a real feel for your kitchen before you purchase it.

Installation Most people prefer to have their kitchen installed and we can recommend an installer to do the job for you. However, Nouveau kitchens can be installed by a confident DIYer. They come with a pre-drilled carcass, complete hardware packs and a full set of easy-to-follow instructions. Door & drawer fronts If you are after a quick, easy and cost effective re-fresh, simply changing your cabinet doors can really enhance the look and feel of your kitchen.

Nouveau collection Exclusive to Mitre 10 is our range of Nouveau foil and acrylic doors. They are manufactured using quality materials including E0 emission MDF and come with a 15 year guarantee. The Nouveau collection has something to suit every kitchen and is designed to fit standard sized cabinets. End panels and toe kicks can be matched (sold separately).

Foil colours Also known as vinyl wrapped doors, these are hard-wearing, easy to clean and will still look great in years to come. They are made with a vacuum-form process that seals the face and edges of the door to not only create a seamless finish, but to also increase the doorâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s durability and resistance to moisture. That means no edges to chip or peel off. There are six colours in the Nouveau foil range, the finish is specific to the colour.

Benchtops Your choice of benchtop material and colour goes a long way towards defining the look and functionality of your kitchen. Customisation gives you design freedom, greater access to an extensive range of dĂŠcors and textures, flexible width and length options plus more profiles and thicknesses to select from. Acrylic benchtops by Infinity The Infinity range is available at Mitre 10 MEGA stores. Made from solid acrylic, these benchtops have seamless joins creating the appearance that they are carved from a single piece of acrylic. The non-porous surface is hygienic and easy to clean. Infinity benchtops come in two standard thicknesses of 38mm or 63mm and need to be custom cut and made to order in the required length and depth that you need.

Splashbacks A splashback insulates your walls against heat from your oven and cooktop. It also makes this hardworking area easier to clean as well as adding an interesting focal point to your kitchen. It offers an opportunity to do something a little more adventurous with design and colour in your kitchen. Sinks, mixers & waste disposers A good sink makes light work of food preparation and clean up yet also brings a sparkle to the kitchen. When choosing a sink, consider size and depth - will you be needing to wash large items often or will you mostly use a dishwasher? Would you prefer a single or double bowl sink? Tapware is something that can really make a statement, but needs to suit the amount of use it will get as well as the lines of your kitchen. Your tapware should also be sized proportionally to your sink and fit in with the overall design of your kitchen.

Classique ovens Mitre 10 has a range of Classique freestanding and built-in ovens. All built-in ovens are stainless steel with double glazed black glass fronts and removable seals for easy cleaning. All Classique ovens shown come with a two year warranty.

Our range of ovens have different functions. When selecting your oven be sure to check what these are so that you get the right oven for your cooking and baking needs. Grill Function Uses only the heating element at the top of the oven. Good for crisping, browning and melting.

Fan & Lower Element Function A fan and lower element combination is useful as when heat is generated from the concealed lower element, the fan will help to evenly distribute the hot air for even cooking.

Half Grill Function Uses only half of the heating element on the top of the oven. Ideal for grilling, toasting or crisping single serves and small amounts of food.

Fan Bake Function Also known as fan assist. Heat is distributed from the elements in the top and bottom of the oven while the fan distributes heat evenly. Ideal for cakes, biscuits and pastry.

Fan Grill Function The grill element at the top of the oven cavity produces a browning effect while the fan helps to distribute the hot air for even cooking. This function is ideal when you need to brown the top of food but also cook it all the way through e.g. sausages, pies, hot chips.

Fan Forced Function Heat comes from a special element located around the fan at the back of the oven and the fan works to evenly distribute hot air. Ideal for cooking on several shelves at once. Ideal for casseroles, roast meat and baking as well as reheating food.

Lower Element Function Used for crisping the bottom of your food as heat is generated from the concealed element in the bottom of the oven. An approved pizza stone can be used on the base of the oven when using this function.

Defrost Function Uses the oven fan to reduce the defrosting time of frozen foods without using heat. This a hygienic way to gently defrost frozen foods.

Conventional Bake Function Also known as traditional bake, this function uses elements in the top and bottom of the oven cavity. To optimise the cooking result you should only cook food on a single shelf. Ideal for cakes, muffins or bread. SKU's

Paint Colour has the power to completely transform your kitchen. Try bright, invigorating colour schemes on elements that are more easily changed such as walls and accessories, and opt for more neutral colours for fixed features such as cabinetry which is more expensive and difficult to change. Planning & designing The secret to a great kitchen lies in the planning. Drawing out a plan of your kitchen before you start makes it easier to see key measurements and the position of windows and doors at a glance. Taking the time to do this will be well worth the effort. You donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t have to follow the layout of your original kitchen, you can be as creative as you like. Just keep in mind that your new kitchen needs to be functional and its easier to work around existing gas, power and water outlets. Moving them can add to the cost of the renovation. Use the planning grid at the back of this brochure to help you plan out your dream kitchen.

Important measurements Write your measurements in millimetres. Check them, then check them again. If you’d like some assistance with this, chat to our kitchen team as they can arrange for someone to measure up for you.

Walls 1. Measure wall height and width. Measure width at three different heights as the walls may not be completely square. Use the shortest measurement to ensure your new kitchen will fit.

Windows and doors 1. Measure all windows and doors and their distance from the floor, ceiling and edges of the wall. Also note down the thickness of the door and window frames. 2. Check which way the doors and windows open and note this down along with the distance they open. You will need this information when planning your new kitchen.

Power, water and gas supply 1. Think about whether you want to retain the layout of your kitchen and keep the power, gas and plumbing outlets where they are or whether you want to move them. It is more costeffective to leave these services as they are, but if you do decide to make changes ensure the work is done by a licensed professional.

2. Measure and note the position of existing power outlets, light switches, drains, water supply pipes and gas fixtures. If you want to move any of these, also note down the new positions and measurements you would like.

Appliances 1. Measure the dimensions of your appliances and note where you want them to be placed. Whether you’re keeping your existing appliances or buying them new, it’s important to know the size so that they fit in with your kitchen cabinetry. 2. Remember to allow clearance room around the appliances. The manufacturer’s instructions will give specific clearances needed for ventilation.

In-store kitchen designers If you’d like a bit of help with your kitchen design and planning, pop down to your local Mitre 10 and the kitchen team will be able to assist. They’ll even be able to put the design into a 3D image so that you get a real feel for your kitchen before you purchase it.

Choosing a layout We have showcased a variety of kitchen styles that can be tailored to make the most of your own kitchen space. Your kitchen does not necessarily need to remain in its current formation. Consider various layout options including L-Shape, Galley, U-Shape and Straight Line.

Work triangle examples

Due to the modular nature of our kitchen range, it’s easy to create a kitchen that suits you and your space. A few things to keep in mind when considering your kitchen layout: 1. How much bench space will you require? Avid cooks and bakers generally prefer lots of bench space to ensure there’s plenty of room for food preparation. 2. Will this be the social hub of the home? Do you have a busy lifestyle or family? You may like to consider a more open-plan kitchen that flows into your dining or living space. Or you may prefer to have enough space for the family to sit at the breakfast bar/kitchen island. If so, you’ll need to allow space for bar stools where they are not in the way.

3. Think about the amount of storage you need in your kitchen and access to homeware such as drinking glasses, plates, pots and pans. 4. Ensure that cabinets are placed sensibly and are not covering power switches. 5. Consider the natural flow between the three key work centres – sink, cooktop and refrigerator. This is called the work triangle. These three centres need to be within easy reach of each other so your kitchen works around you, and not the other way around. An effective work triangle is typically no smaller than 3.6m when the distance between each centre is added together. Some popular work triangle layouts can be seen in the illustrations.

Putting the plan on paper:

following the layout you have sketched and working to the measurements you have taken from your current kitchen.

1. Once youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve decided on a layout and chosen all the cabinets you want, use this planning grid to draw a plan of your design. One small square on the grid is equal to 100mm x 100mm. Make note of doors, electrical and gas points.

3. Once youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re happy with your layout, draw around the shapes or stick them to the grid. It may be useful to glue the wall units to the grid directly behind the base units.
