Inspiring better health and wellbeing At Paintings in Hospitals, we provide art for better health and wellbeing.

Like Air Arts, we know art can help people stay well, aid recovery, and support longer, more fulfilling lives. We are dedicated to bringing art to everyone through our artwork displays and creative activities in health and social care spaces around the UK.

The Paintings in Hospitals art collection is the only national collection dedicated to inspiring better health. The collection began in 1959 and contains over 4,000 artworks, including pieces by Andy Warhol, Bridget Riley, Antony Gormley, and Maggi Hambling.

We have recently refreshed our display at Royal Derby Hospital. Among the many new artworks is ‘Angel’ by Albert Irvin (above). This print is full of bold brush strokes in the brightest colours. Albert was an academician
